Hi! It's been awhile since I've done this and need refreshment on my ratios... i have 3 coir bricks 4 quart rye berry jars (colonized) 168g used coffee grounds Gypsum (plenty) 7 dry quarts vermiculite
I have 10, 6quart mini tubs with lids. What would be my best ratios to use, from best pasteurization method, mixing of grain to coir, to how much to put in each tub... all recommendation welcome!!!

you're doing shoe boxes and your spawn is ready, you don't need the gypsum or coffee grounds. bring coir to slightly under field capacity (no need to pasteurize it) and mix with your spawn. the ratio of spawn to coir can be anywhere from 1 part spawn to 1 part coir up to 1 part spawn to 8 parts of coir. But, actually, there are already 2 or 3 excellent "shoebox tek" here. you should just check them out...https://www.shroomery.org/forums/dosearch.php?terms=Shoebox+tek

Just use the coir and verm. Forget the coffee, u can use gypsum if u want but coffee is a easy way to fuck stuff up. I’d bucket Tek the coir/verm Bucket Tek . This should be enough substrate for 4 shoeboxes. Use one jar of spawn to 2 qts of coir/verm in each box

Yeah skip the coffee grounds and just use coir/verm, you can throw in some gypsum if you want. I use just straight coir usually.

Do the bucket tek, use either straight coir or coir + verm. Fuck the coffee grounds, the only thing they do is increase contamination rates.
Use 1 qt of coir/CVG per jar per tub. Mix it up well, make it as level as possible and let it do its thing.

Awesome thanks guys. When I mix my vermiculite and coir, should i use one brick coir and 2 quarts vermiculite? I'm wanting to do half a jar of rye berry to one tub... I'm hoping to make 8tubs...also, how many quarts of water should I use to get a good field capacity? It's been a few years and I've read so many post, I just want to make sure I'm doing this proper!

OK so I mixed up 1 brick, 2quarts vermiculite, and a spoonfull of Gypsum just cause... took 4quarts boiling water and poured into bucket. 30 min later stirred it up, put lid back and left it until it was at 90°f. I used all 4 quart jars of berrys into bucket and thoroughly mixed it. I was able to make 10 -6quart-shoes box's. Each sub leveled off around 1 1/2 inches. I'll post pictures of progress! Plus I want to log my work. Thank you very much for the help!

I think most people put at least one jar per box. But who cares. I look forward to hearing how it turns out.
Just a thought, the great thing about shoeboxes is the ability to seperate everything out and make sure you dont cross contaminate. That being said, mixing all the jars in one big bucket then putting it to boxes, defies the purpose a bit. As long as none of your jars were contaminated it should be done though.
