Kratom is now the most important plant medicine in my life 1

I was first introduced to kratom around a decade ago when it started making waves on the internet. I used it on and off and found it an interesting plant but I never knew how much I'd grow to love it.
Now I dose kratom every single day, and I haven't had any terrible effects from it. I will say if I dose too much the feeling is not pleasant, but I'm super glad this plant is staying legal for the moment.
It's not the kind of thing I take and feel "fucked up" or anything like that. I can definitely experience euphoria, but the main reason I take it is to battle depression.
I've been on zoloft and prozac and all that shit but the side effects aren't work it and to be honest those drugs didn't even make me feel any better. Now I dose kratom throughout the day and my depression is nil.
Personally I like red vein and yellow vein the best. As someone who experiences chronic panic attacks I feel like the yellow and red are a little more sedating while white and green vein gave me more peppy energy.
I'll probably never have another drug experience as profound and beautiful and enjoyable as mescaline, but that never comes around and I honestly only have experienced it once after using an isopropyl alchol extract on 1 ounce of ground peruvian torch.
I'm sure all members of this site are well aware of kratom, but if not and you are experiencing pain or depression, kratom is a must try in my book

I'm glad it works for some people but it's an unhealthy feeling for me. Kratom just makes me want to do hard drugs.

Yea it's hit or miss for me. Sometimes it's a pleasant high, sometimes it's like a taste that makes me want something more, other times it's dysphoric and makes my brain feel all fuzzy and off. For some reason the high usually only lasts 30-45 minutes for me too before just turning to a weird unfocused/wrestless feeling, and I've tried a bunch of different vendors/varieties/doses
I had a friend get one his batches tested for lead and pesticides, the results were really not good. That turned me off for good I think

Been off psych meds for about 2 years. Been off opiates for about 5-6 years.
Been managing my pain and problems for long before that. Difference in pre-kratom and post-kratom is that in the pre-kratom days I was doing it very badly. If at all. Constantly fighting medical authorities of one sort or another to get what I need and being treated like a junkie with no real problems for a good portion of it. Spending thousands going from one specialist to another. (So much liability shit when I just want to not feel like shit. Preferably at some point before I kill myself.)
Trying to manage pain with alcohol when you have liver disease is probably the definition of stupid.
I don't know if kratom is contributing to my liver problems but I know for sure that stress was worse for my liver. Numbers look better, have alot less inflammation.
I wouldn't have a life without kratom. I would be on disability or dead if I couldn't manage my problems on my own. Happy to say that I'm not. I'm at work. In pain, but manageable pain, and in decent spirits, thanks to that little plant.

This is pretty much my exact experience as well. It was pleasant at first, but eventually it made me want to chase the dragon. After overdoing it for a while, it now gives me serious PAWS-like burnout for a few days afterwards. Better off without taking it at all. Sigh, this is why we can't have nice things.
Pain management is different than recreational use though. Apparently it's saved many people from the horrible side effects of others meds. More power to them i say.

It's been a godsend & panacea for me in some ways.
When I took kratom for the first time back around 2011, I felt that I had finally found what I had been looking for out of all the various plants/herbs/drugs I had taken.
Great for keeping my anxiety in check...Great for mood support/keeping my head up....Great for energy/motivation as someone who is a rather low energy person...All while being super mild/benign, doesn't develop much tolerance and remains effective even after taking the same dose daily for 8+ years now, and the withdrawals are relatively mild and short lasting...and it is super cheap, the dose I take twice a day cost far less than a cup of cheap coffee.
I've been taking 2g twice a day for 8+ years now, no issues of any sort. My skin seems to have cleared up and improved/looks healthier after I started taking it.
I dread the day it becomes banned...Nothing else has ever come anywhere close to "helping" me like kratom has. It truly is some wonderful medicine for me.
Kratom actually keeps me from wanting to dabble with "hard drugs"...Not that I ever had a strong appetite for or desire to dabble with such, but with kratom I don't really have much interest in "getting high on drugs"...Prior to finding kratom, for a short while I was taking 5mg of oxycodone a day to help with the same issues I take kratom for (anxiety, depression, energy/motivation, etc etc)...I feel like something is askew and "off" with my opioid system, just like some people have something askew/off with their dopaminergic or serotonergic system. I've always been extremely sensitive to opioids and the smallest amount of them improves my day to day life dramatically. I rarely ever used them to nod or just to get fucked up, I've mostly used them as a tool/medicine (just not for physical pain). But I never liked dabbling with potent/pharma opioids for many different reasons (expensive, tolerance increases, having to source/find them, they're full agonists and potent and slam the opioid receptors, etc etc etc...)
...when I found kratom, which has some mild opioid activity and I believe is only a partial opioid agonist and also has a component/alkaloid that is an opioid antagonist, I was sooo glad that something like that existed...Well balanced and benign.
