Why can't they be normal
    #26648128 - 05/04/20 11:29 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

This is my second grow B+ Cubensis so I am a newbie.

´

I Spawned 1/3 Grain into 50/50 Coco/Vermiculite @ field capacity in  BOD's Easy AF UnBODified Monotub.

The 10 days colonization went fine, so I put them into Fruiting condition and the first Pins popped up...
only this time they grow very uneven mostly in the corners but for worse the Fruits already mature in the Pining phase, the Caps are all open when they show up and don't have spores in them.

At further Inspection it looks like they don't even have a veil.

I did Monitor with a Hygrometer and kept it around 90% humidity  and temps don't reach over 24C(75F) and I Fan 2 times a day with light cycle 12on/off.

Could This be an indication for wrong condition, bad genes or maybe bacteria.

Is there a way to salvage this or should I start over with a second flush.
I am not even certain when to harvest without the veil break nor do I know if they contain psilocybin for that matter.

Any recommendation is welcome, Thanks in advance

Weird! Can't really say anything as to why this happened, it can be tons of different stuff I would guess.

What I wanted to say tho is that theyre probably still edible unless you see outright mold/rot on the actual shrooms. As for potency I would guess they're normal, based on a grow I did once who just gave out weird mutants and blobs but still was potent.

Good point about not knowing when to harvest tho, don't know how to solve that one...

What is a 1/3 of grain?

The recipe for coir is not 50:50 coir:verm. It's more like 4:1 coir:verm.

Honestly your sub is hard to see but judging by the mushrooms I'd say your
sub is over field capacity. Wet subs usually lead to small deformed fruits

Oh ok, sorry I mixed that up, basically I used ~1part Spawn to 3parts Substrate and for the Substrate I did the Bucket Tek, I think it was 1Brick coco coir(650g) with 2Quarts Vermiculite Water with 2Spoons Gypsum and almost 4 Quarts Water.

Thanks I will try it a little more on the dry side next time

Whats your temps and humidity like? I have been battling wet over saturated subs as well..talk about mini micro fruit!!! I went 4.5 quarts h2o to 4 now to 3.5..if its the same then its genetics.I also used a liner this time so condensation doesn't fall into the sub...forgot to mention..my temps are 65-70f and humidity is anywhere between 60%-85%

I leave it at room Temps but since it produces a little heat it gets up to 75F max and the humidity I keep around 90% for Pining and fruiting hard to find the sweet spot I mist in the morning and after work

Good news I picked a few of the bigger ones, nothing did smell odd, and they bruise blue

Yea I probably don't dunk it after the 1-2 Flush in that case maybe the water content level off a bit
