Regarding Agar and Liquid Culture

Yaaaaao. I've been doing a lot of reading on agar and liquid culture, and I think I'm piecing together some key facts here, and I would like some input.
Main Takeaway: Continuously buying syringes is fucking stupid. One should start looking into producing Liquid Cultures or doing Agar.
Producing Liquid Cultures with Syringes is also not the best idea; One should probably look into producing liquid cultures with Agar.
So: Right now I am waiting on a couple syringes from Sporeworks, and I want to make whatever they are last as long as possible. Should I do LC or Agar? And why? And if I do LC, I see that the main idea is that I should just do Agar, so what's the diff?

Do agar and liquid culture Use the syringe on agar to clean it up and get some rhizmorphic growth then inoculate LC with a clean agar wedge.
Always do agar, agar agar agar... Getting clean spawn is most of the battle. Using agar I don't have to worry about random luck of the draw or dirty inoculant.
Agar is used to clean+choose good mycelium, LC is basically used for speed and efficency but it's risky unless you know the mycelium you put inside it was clean and fast growing preferably.

agar is a prerequisite for a clean Liquid culture.
Taking spores to agar allows you to clean up or ensure that the culture is clean. You can then use wedges from this plate to inoculate a LC broth
LC is amazing for expanding your culture exponentially, 1 tiny wedge in the broth can yield up to 500ml of inoculate. Using only 5-10cc per quart you can see how far LC stretches your culture.
Agar is great for making the most of your spores as well. In the syringe or print, you have 1000's of spores, utilizing agar lets you make that print/syringe last forever
LC is not a replacement for agar, as you cannot tell visually if the LC is clean or not and good practice is to always test your LC on agar before using on a large batch of grain

K. Dope. Dope. That was the idea I was getting. While I believe I understand, what are the mechanics behind agar producing purity? Is it that: 1) It doesn't NECESSARILY produce clean mycelium, it just gives you the CHANCE to carve out the cleanest stuff...
OR:
2) It actually DOES produce clean mycelium because of X/Y/ or Z reason.

Number one is correct, unless you are using antibiotic agar, then both are correct.

So wait... what's the point of Liquid Culture, if Agar is already a necessary part of both methods, why is Liquid Culture necessary?

Agar is a tool for cleaning cultures and can be used as inoculant. LC is only an inoculant, but it scales much better. Inoculating 100 jars with agar takes a lot more time and resources while having longer colonization time compared to LCs. But with LCs, you need to have reliable techniques, because if you fuck it up, all 100 jars will be fucked.
