psilocybe subaeruginosa ID Request. ACT Region :)
    #26647719 - 05/04/20 08:17 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hi everyone, I am a novice mushroom enthusiast and think i finally found what i have been looking for. Would appreciate some verification. Thankyou

Habitat: Found in a pine forest at the bottom of a natural water run off. Scattered pine needles, branches, grass, dirt. Quite green and damp still. Found growing alongside some fallen branches all within a 5 metre radius.

Location: Canberra, ACT, Australia

Gills: Beige, light tan/ brown colour

Stem: 4-5cm average, feels solid and sturdy, doesn't come apart easily, was quite difficult to remove stem from cap. Stem is bone white but has a depth to it and when first picked could see some blue (almost black) staining start to seep in.

Cap: Caramel brown colour with some colour change as it nears the center. Some caps have a definite point or nipple while other smaller caps are almost like a helmet. Caps are starting to stain blue now as its a few hours post picking.

Spore print color:
Still waiting on the spore print

Bruising: Blueish bruising on the stem.

Other information: 4th time hunting in this area and this is the first time i have seen anything with the white stem bruising blue like this. They seemed to be quite different from the other little brown mushrooms i have been finding. Most notably the stem was much sturdier and had a different look and feel.
Currently storing in a small tin until tomorrow where i am going to attempt to dry them out using a dehydrator.

Thanks again. Have a great day
