you'll just doom your other jars. The whole point of the pf tek is that you can do many jars at once for cheap. Nothing stops you from burying it in the backyard somewhere with shadow. But wait to see what answers you get from people more experienced.

Dump it outside along with all your other contaminated jars in a pile of h-poo.

You should be able to cut it off and fruit it. Bacteria won't just jump cake to cake.

What would be the best way to go about cutting it off?
Just remove the cake from the container and just use a knife like cutting a slice of bread to get remove it?

Also should I leave the Dry verm layer on top when fruiting it or remove it from the cake?

It might crumble off on its own, otherwise just attack it with a knife and cut it off. Then wash the cake, do the dunk & roll (don't dunk with other cakes) and fruit it. And yeah, you should always remove the top layer.
