Emergency Drying

This is cross posted between Getting Started and here. The Gettting Started forum doesn't seem to get as much traffic as this one, and I need an answer quickly. I apologize in advance for the same post twice.
I ran into a bit of an issue. Heh. I was expecting the fruiting time to take longer and Flush 1 is nearly complete on my PF Tek grow, and I don't have a food dehydrator, desiccant, or any of that shit yet. I have a food dehydrator en route from Amazon that a friend is helping me with, but it isn't slated to be here for another week. I don't want to lose these fruits that the veil just broke on this morning. I want to print a few and dry them, but I don't know how to go about doing that without desiccant or a dehydrator.
However I do this, it has to be discreet. I'm assuming lying them out in a low RH room is out of the question?

I know how to use the search feature, I am a programmer by trade. I just need an answer. I don't have the time right now to search out the best way to do this. Life is happening.

That's a poor response. You'll get an answer far quicker using the search feature to such a basic question. I doubt you'll struggle skimming a few threads to find your answer being a programmer.

lay them out in the sunlight on newspaper if your in such a damn hurry it worked before we had dehydrators should still work
and programmers arent engineers, so I understand your need to have a step by step guide to walk you thru it. engineers dont need that, they make the steps for programmers to follow

How god damn hard is it to just answer a question? Jesus. I'll go ahead and excuse myself to elsewhere, where people don't mind providing requested information. There's like 40 links on that page. I don't have the time to browser all of that, and I don't care if you think it's a poor response. I just need a quick answer. Jesus.

I dry my mushrooms in batches (can only fit a certain amount). I keep the fresh ones in the fridge in a ziplock bag inside an airtight container. They’ve kept just fine for over 5 days.
If there’s a downside to this, I’m not aware. But it worked in a pinch.

I put mine in the fridge too. I don't know that an air tight container is good (I believe it can cause them to rot faster)
This probably won't happen anyways since you are gonna be drying them soon but I just make sure the container I use isn't completely air tight. You still want them enclosed enough that they aren't drying out from the currents in the fridge...you can also wrap in foil
sometimes I store fruits in the fridge for 7+ days while I wait for enough to cram my dehydrator depending on what I got going on
it's probably the best option

Dont you own a fan lol? Just use a fan! then when your dehydrator comes in just throw your mushrooms in for a little while to make sure they're completely dry.
If you don't have a fan just run to the store and buy one. They're cheap! It's only may 6th so dont sun dry them lmao!

Just put in the fridge until your dehydrator arrives. They can last about a week in the fridge in a paper bag.

Make tea, then freeze the tea and bam you got mush tea that will be good for a yr plus. Its far more effective than trying to fan dry them and takes far less time.

A better answer would be that you like to communicate with live people instead of searching through old threads. Not whatever that was that you did up there

The Shroomery of 5 years ago was more of a shark tank, sending many a thin skinned new growers to other safer places with a “you guys are all assholes!” post out the door. 5 years before that was probably even more so. 10 years before that you could get killed over the internet with words if you tried getting sassy with some of those agar cowboys. The world is getting softer and softer 😢

Seriously, 10 years ago a thread like this would have been a link to a search for 'drying tek' and then closed by an admin, or nobody else would have commented.
This post comes off as a teenager growing in his closet trying to hide it from his parents. Hence him having a friend help him get a dehydrator/having somewhere to run it, him needing to be 'discrete', and him not being able to just toss them in the fridge until he can dry them...
Also kid, you can just put them on the oven drying rack at low heat with the door slightly ajar. Works best with a convection oven obviously.

Blow on em til you pass out. Or you can put them in the crisper in the fridge.. I preferred a tyvek mailer since it breathes.. the cold air will get the drying underway (just think of an old uncovered piece of pizza.. that shit gets rock hard dry in no time. That’s how I use to finish flimsy fruits in the summer months when the rh is really high and fan drying only went so far.

If I'm being an asshole for expecting people to answer a question on a forum when asked, then sobeit. I don't particularly care what your opinion of it is. I've been in the shadows of these forums here and there for a while and I'm no stranger how you guys treat people that don't have the time to sit around and search through previous threads. Regardless of what my situation is, it is no concern of yours. I asked a question and sought and answer. And I got the answer I was seeking. Your perpetuation of the issue is indicative of your own immaturity. So uh.... I don't really give a fuck. =]

Generally when I have time on my hands, I don't mind helping other people without being a sarcastic asshole about using the search function of the website. I'm just saying. I'm not gonna be bullied because I stand up for myself, by you or anybody - on the internet or in life. Just who I am. Sorry if you don't like it. I fail see the issue with pressing a few keys on your keyboard and being a helpful, beneficial asset to the community rather than being a sarcastic dick. But I guess that's just me and my NPD coming through.

You showed up with a super simple question, searching for drying without a dehydrator gets you plenty of results with workable ideas, I know cuz I just did it in 2 minutes. No one is bullying you. When people pick on you for no reason, or for something you can’t change, or even a positive thing you do that they don’t like, that’s bullying. Being called out for acting like a d bag isn’t bullying, it’s a friendly reminder that the world doesn’t revolve around you, n stuff

One guy posted a video I still haven't watched, referencing me drying my stuff. You, yourself, opted for sarcasm with your " Not whatever that was that you did up there ". Justweed has hilariously likened my to a teenager hiding nefarious activities from his parents; again, sarcasm. You can't tell me nobody's bullying me. Just because I needed a quick answer at the time doesn't mean I'm too dense to understand the context of things that I read. I had other shit going on at the time and I needed a thread that I could specifically reference without having to read through a bunch of comments that probably won't apply to specific situation. Again, I still don't see what's so damn difficult about just answering a question. IF you're tired of answering questions, don't reply. I asked because there are other people like me that don't mind answering questions that I think I have an accurate or relatable answer to. I previously had everything lined up to be able to dry my harvest with a borrowed dehydrator and last moment it fell through, and I harvested my first flush the following morning. Life was just happening at the time. So, I'm sorry for asking a question. In the end, that's what this is about. Ya'll don't like my reaction to it, and that's fine. I am who I am and you are who you are... you ain't the first people that haven't liked me. You can probably tell I rub people the wrong way all the time. :>
Anyways, it wasn't ever my intent to disrespect anybody, but a guy feels the way he feels about the entire situation, and I'm not going to apologize for that specifically.

We are all who we are and sometimes ppl get bored in a pandemic and test boundries and it’s a l title easier to do on the internet.. we want to be entertained so some ppl are going to say things in your thread you aren’t gonna like.. just ignore the posts that rub ya the wrong way and wait for others to give you the advice you’re looking for.
Just be patient and take others with a grain of salt and you’ll get what you request one way or another. It’s impossible to control others.. especially the thousands paying attention at any given time. the sooner you let that happen, the happier here you’ll be. Makes my job easier too.
