Hey there,
So, I'm new to taking or consuming Mushrooms. I picked up some B+, and I started taking it to help with my PTSD/Depression, and it works for me. I only started this week, and I cant say im a huge fan of the taste, so im still in the midst of experimenting ways of ingesting it without gagging/throwing up. Tonight, I will be trying it mixed with Mushroom soup, after its ground up. I read some posts I know some people can eat it by itself, that's not for me currently lol.
What's a decent way to dose it? I kind of want to play with hallucinations or something, so far when I've taken it albeit small doses, I get REALLY focused in what im doing and I feel a bit of it, but again never have seen anything outside of feeling more awake / alert. I don't have a scale or anything so, kind of makes it hard. Im trying to eyeball it.

Apple sauce is can be your best friend. You really need a scale. I've heard that micro dosing (less than 1g) is good for Depression. Eyeballing it can make for an experience stronger than you expected.
Hope this helps Gg92875

Ok thanks for that, didnt think of apple sauce. is it true that the caps contain more psilocybin? Someone told me that, so I have mostly been just going with stems.

Making tea from grounded up dried mushrooms is a great way to take it. It’s different than just eating it, quicker onset shorter duration, more intense in a way bc of that, plus there’s no need to eat any of the mushroom itself this way. Check out some of the Tea teks on this board and chances are you find something more suited for you.

They're way easier to eat when they're fresh and have better effects in my opinion. They have near the consistency of celery but a little softer. They don't get stuck in your teeth like dried mushrooms and they taste better. Its hard to buy them fresh due to risk of spoilage like other food. When you take enough to have visuals you are usually too mindfucked to enjoy them. It's different from acid where that is clearheaded when you are seeing geometric patterns and you can focus on them and notice details in how it changes, though mushroom visuals are very memorable and can be thought about more than when you were experiencing them. When you are experiencing them they seem so entangled with other things you are experiencing you can't enjoy them as much as when on acid.

i'm assuming you mean not how much to take, but how to consume it without feeling like you want to kill yourself from the taste? there's a few ways:
tea - make shroom water by boiling your fresh or dried shrooms in water for 10-20 minutes, discard the used up material, and use the water to make whatever tea you want - ginger lemon is one option which has the benefit of lemon to boost (supposedly, at least it does for some people) the potency at the cost of duration and also the ginger helps soothe your stomach during the come up. downside: still kind of blegh, also i hate the taste of ginger.
shroom cocoa: this is where we start getting into synergies. shrooms and chocolate mix. they mix very VERY well, both taste wise and trip wise. do the shroom tea water thing, only this time instead of making tea, use the hot shroom water (minus the used up solids of course) to make hot cocoa with instant cocoa mix. absolutely no nasty shroom taste, just delicious cocoa, and chocolate seems to boost the intensity and duration of a trip slightly. seems to mellow it out a bit too, maybe that's just me. regardless it's one of the easiest ways to take down shroom tea!
shroom soup - similar to the other two methods, but using instant chicken noodle mix packet. shrooms aren't the greatest tasting mushroom in the world, but they do mix pretty well with savory foods, chicken being no exception.
chocolate buckeyes - now for edibles. figure out how much buckeyes you want and how heavy you want each buckeyes dose to be - like, if each buckeye has about a tablespoon of peanut butter and you want each to have about 1 gram dried, and you want 20 buckeyes total, you want 20 tablespoons peanut butter and 20 grams dried shrooms for instance. powder your shrooms, mix with the peanut butter and a little sugar to sweeten it to taste (not a lot). make them into balls, if they're too soft just refrigerate them till firm, then dip them in tempered chocolate and let the chocolate set. or be like me and fail to melt the chocolate properly and it didn't temper properly so now you gotta leave them in the freezer because the chocolate melts as soon as you take them out of the freezer. <_< (still good though.)
sauteed shrooms: if you got fresh shrooms, you can sautee them over lowish to medium low heat and they will still keep most of their potency. remember, people make tea out of em all the time, boiling them for 20 minutes. use em in an omelette or other recipes. not the most tasty things in the world but certainly not too bad tasting - it's mainly the texture that's the problem. a bit tougher and chewier than the button mushrooms you're probably used to. cooking definitely improves the flavor though.
capsules - dry em. powder em. encapsulate em. swallow em. shudder because the damn things refuse to go down properly. i suspect it's because the capsules are so light... maybe if we mix in a bit of sugar with the shroom powder to add weight, the capsules will be much easier to swallow? i've noticed that with a lot of capsules, all the ones i've had issues with swallowing are extremely light weight and basically "float" when i try and down them.
I have sensitive taste buds so i've sought many ways to eat these things in desperation, all to escape the horrid taste of shrooms. so far my best success with them has been with chocolate - it's like that food was designed specifically to mask the taste of shrooms.

Tripping from fresh mushrooms, or from tea made from fresh mushrooms, is ALWAYS best. But how can you store fresh? Read on.....
Process your flush, say 500g. Dry 100g and make tea from the remaining 400g.
Dry: once the mushrooms are cracker dry and allowed to cool to room temperature, weigh them (you absolutely need a set of scales......). If the dry weight is 5g, then you know the water content of that flush is 95%. Remember this figure.
Tea: slice up the fresh mushrooms into a pan. Cover in enough lemon juice to soak (or citric acid in the ratio 1:50 if you want to be exact). Now turn on the heat, noting if you used lemon juice, you need add no water - the mushrooms will boil in their own water. If not, add approx 100ml water to stop things burning at the start. Bring to boil then boil rapidly for one minute. Turn down the heat and steep , simmer for 10 to 20 minutes. Allow to cool. Now thoroughly strain and squeeze to get as much juice out of the mush as possible. I then inject into a 100ml syringe and put exact same amount into each ice cube tray. Freeze and seal in air tight bag, container.
You can now work out the strength of each ice cube. (95% water, 400g, equals 20g total dose. 20g divided by number of ice cubes, that is the strength of each ice cube).
And these ice cubes are “homogenised”, ie. each ice cube is the exact same strength as the rest.
When you’re ready to dose, thaw out the required amount of ice cubes then drink according to your favourite method. Try the following:-
Pina Colada Smoothie: 60ml white rum 60ml coconut cream or milk 120ml pineapple juice Mushroom ice cubes blended in together.
Now drink - it really does taste sublime, even masking the lemon in the ice cubes
And even better, the small mount of alcohol smooths out the come up anxiety.

Should have also noted, if you don’t like the intensity the lemon or citric acid brings, just omit it from the tea, but remember you will need some water to get things started.
