Making the best of things. * 4
    #26645377 - 05/03/20 07:39 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

So I've been working through this whole ordeal, which has been extremely weird. I do security over an entire building that takes up close to a small city block, and Im there solo. The job really takes care of me, so it's really just been a good break in the mundane atmosphere that exists now.

I didn't realize how insanely anxious people make me. Since I've been pretty much isolated from all other humans, Ive found some crazy sense of peace. I havent taken a benzo in over a month. Stopped messing with disso's. Did my fucking taxes ( first time in 7 years ). Got money for a car. My animals look show quality damn near. I dove back into a lot of hobbies.

I could go on. I didn't even plan some crazy turn around out. Just turns out the over stimulation of non stop aocial interaction was completely overwhelming me.

How's this all treating everyone? Hope everyones trying to find a silver lining in this whenever possible.

I agree with you 100%. I've always had mild social anxiety, and I'm in a job that I see a new person every 30 minute, and typically spend 30 minutes with them.

After a long day and meeting/treating 20-30 new patients I want to break down and never see a soul again.

I've realized since this thing has started and work has slowed. My stomach feels better, i'm less angry.

You must be a fellow introvert. I just can't wait till I can get in the woods and camp away from all other souls.

Have you looked into mindfulness, or meditation? If I can get just a minute alone during a busy work day, I'm sitting down focusing on my breath and trying to just not worry about what could be or how the next interaction may go.

I’m making the best of it as well. We can’t control what/when life throws shit like this at the fan. What we can control is how we react to it. This year is wrote off in a lot of ways, but there are still opportunities for growth & progression, and I’m doing my best to go with the flow & continue to push myself forward.

I havent even had the urge to take a klonopin. Ive been prescribed them on and off for 10 years. I think its been about 6 weeks since Ive had one. I havent slept thia good in so long. I live in the ghetto, so homelife has been a little more stressful from all the noise. Im definitely getting older.

I too, have been able to naturally relax during the pandemic for the most part.  It’s been nice in that sense.  Mostly just that sense.

Really glad to hear that you’re doing well man! I hear ya on the home life; I live on the border of the hood, and shit has been out of hand. The violence spiked last year, and it’s been even worse so far this year. I get kinda paranoid walking to work. Even though my immediate neighborhood isn’t the ghetto, the violence & other crime leaks into it.

Happy for you that it's giving you the oppertunities to make these changes

I just want to add that, before this virus came along, the world (powers that be) were in top gear as far as appeasing the god of this world....Money, so it's forced that to stop or at least slowdown for a while which is good for us all.  I hope that here in Australia, we as a nation stop relying so much on china and start getting back to being able to look after ourselves first.

I've been working too (an industrial DMSO production lab - business has been the same if not +), things moving pretty much as normal in that regard, but all of my kids' social lives have come to halt.  That has provided a huge break as I'm not running them around to sports or friends at all.  Also I don't go in any of the busier places in town like big gas stations and grocery stores etc.  I only go to places near or in the smaller town of 20k that I live in.  Gas is about  $1.25 here and since I only drive about 30-40 miles a day to work and back, I barely use any gas.  It has its silver linings for me too.

Glad to hear you're well, man!

I've been out of work since mid march but they're still paying us which is awesome.

I actually ended up confessing my feelings for a coworker of about 7 years.  It surprised her but she is REALLY into me and we actually hooked up the other day.  I've been crazy about her for a few years and we got much closer too.  Whenever we'd close together we'd sit in her car, smoke a blunt, and just talk about life.

Pretty dope stuff, man.  This virus literally kept me paid and gave me the woman of my dreams.  We chat all day now, call each other to say goodnight, text in the morning.  I def forgot what this felt like.

My ex and I actually found common ground and forgave each other to an extreme Ive never experienced. We haven't argued in over two months and its like when we first met only theres more lines drawn. I was so busy pleasing corporations and bosses, I forgot to shake off work and be a human at home. I never saw myself becoming a work a holic but it keeps me out of trouble.
