Not sure which species you have there. possibly Inocybe Sp. In any case it isn't P.subaeruginosa. They can't be too far off now though. Good luck down South nibycolisp will be looking out for your report. Sorry for those who've lost patches due to fire, logging etc. I've lost a dozens of good spots over the years to fire, logging, development etc. Good news is they'll bounce back eventually. Logged areas often produce well once new saplings go in and have grown a couple meters tall to provide shelter. Adding a few new patches to the repertoire each season should help offset any future losses.

Bob found some, he posted pics of some pins last page i believe. No subs for me, had a look today.
I did find my first Porcini from 10 years of hunting! Just one small specimen unfortunately. Very exciting, hope to find more of them soon. Since people are posting their inactives, i might as well post pics of this awesome find.

Found these little guys in the Adelaide hills. Still looked a bit dry out there for prolific action.

Nice find man! Season has just started, so an early find like that is really good. Did you just find them, or did you know about the patch from last season?

Thanx Ooisi. Its ma special spot. Its in a well known area, off the beaten track, tucked in a valley. Found it last year. There were a few cars out and about.

Good work Molleytrolley, some nice early pins. Also well done on the porcini finds OOISI. Round golf ball specimen there. They make for a good feed. Should be more to go round this year with the borders closed.

Thanks man, really made me smile! My family are Polish and we call them Prawdziwki (Roughly Pruv-jiv-ki) and we prize them highly, just like the Italians. Would love to get enough to feed the family in Adelaide. Its about the size of an apple or orange. Dont think the spot will really produce more, but you can bet your socks ill be checking .
Unfortunately i saw three edible pickers out today, this hobby is now becoming rather popular. Lots of articles about Porcini too. Covid-19 has driven lots of people out into the hills & Conservation parks, which in some ways is good, in others quite annoying. But s'pose thems the breaks.
As a side note, I have an Adelaidenow article that says Porcinis were first officially recognized in 2010 (4 years before 2014, date of the article). My brothers and my father actually found them in early 2000's like 2002 or so.

Nope, pine only. They have adapted to pine from my understanding, so hunting in pine now has an extra factor for rejoicing.

Sounds like a job for some type of pine specialist.

Some inactives from recent weeks.
Gyms

Not sure if this one was decomposing itself with its own mycelium, or had been attacked. Didn't find many like this.

Suillus of some variety.

Not sure on this one, growing in a mulched bed.

Edit: Found a few subs out today. Looking like a great fungi season ahead. Very early.

Went out for my first hunt today, in a completely different area than usual! Didn't find any subs just yet, but they can't be far off now with the weather we're having.

Found what I think is my first Gymnopilus Purpuratus? Such a pretty little mushroom!

Found what I first thought was a huge early patch of subs, but looking closer I think they were something else. Probably the closest doppelganger to subs I've seen, just goes to show how careful you need to be.

Found a huge Gym pair!

Not sure what this was. Very purple in colour.

These things are everywhere at the moment, makes for very cool looking pine forests.

Appreciate the report on the south frunco. Had considered making the journey down but may hold off a little longer.
Cracker shots Vibrance. Those be some pretty G.purpuratus Samwich. Very nice find indeed. Looks like a great habitat for them.
