Scattered patches normal?
    #26644572 - 05/02/20 08:14 PM (4 years, 8 months ago)

I know I've made a bunch of random threads, but I wasn't sure if I should have made one main thread or a bunch...

Anyway, I finally got growth! It's pretty exciting minus the blobs. It's fun to watch.. thing is, my tub doesn't look like others. There's growth but it's scattered.

Any ideas why?

Surface conditions/ pinset, genetics potentially

Looks like conditions played a role for you

Yeah looks like the myc overgrew and matted a bit maybe, lack of fae perhaps, mighta played a role in your pinset, surface conditions

Could be partly genetic too, thats PE? From ms?

Gonna be hard to fix the surface at this point but max fae without sacrificing too much humidity would be my goal

Next time might be able to catch it before hand and do better but also genetics could be a factor

You gonna take a clone?

Yeah np.

Agar is really easy.

If you have a pc you just mix 3 ingredients, pc, let cool a bit, pour plates in SAB, then transfer to them

Real easy

Did you case it with 5050?

It looks like it might fill in, Ive had some sparse looking initial pinsets with PE that ended up filling in nicely by the end.

Just try to maintain the surface to get the good second flush.

Yeah I used 5050.

It's actually filling in nicely now.
