mycellium on my agar ?

does this look like the beginning of germination with spores. I have 3 diff types going. 4/26 initially inoculated 3 GT via needle and 3 EC (accidently flooded so im not sure if that's what some of the additional white discoloration from excess liquid) for viewing purposes all plates with not upside downlabeling aka sharpie on the top not bottom are from 4/26. 4/30 I inoculated 2 EC 2 GT 2 PT via spore again but loop this time. seems to have had a better effect both are producing something "crystal/snowflake appearing" I think I have afew plates not doing anything the PT were from a seller not on this site. please let me know what you think. the GT has a shiton of visible black spores and the EC looked a little brown and weird in the syringe but well see I guess that's why we do agar.
EC: 4/30-
EC: 4/26 -
GT: 4/26-
GT: 4/30-
EC: 4/30-
PT:4/30- -no visible change that I can see.

In order as you posted them:
EC: 4/30: Bacterial contamination from excess liquid
EC: 4/26: Don't see anything growing, except there could be a bacterial blotch on the first one, the slight discoloration on the left. But could just be the agar itself, hard to say without better pictures.
GT: 4/26: Mycelium covered by bacteria
GT: 4/30: Bacteria from excess liquid
EC: 4/30: Bacteria from excess liquid
PT:4/30: Don't see anything growing/too blurry
Just put a single small drop of spore solution in the center of the plate next time and you'll get better results

I don't see anything on any plate. Bacteria is cream colored than what is there.

Thanks guys. The 4/30 ones should not have gotten excess liquid unless from condensation. I'm still good to try to grow this and transfer it right ? It could also be possible that my PC didnt get hot enough. Its hottest setting is 12. I ran the aga for like 45 mins in two Mason jars. Little discouraging but wanna learn from it. You guys think I should make more plates and restart my inoculation ?

heres some better pics. GT's are the only ones I think I might keep from the first inoc. GT 4/26-
4/30 plates PT top 2 no visible growth, EC middle 2, GT bottom 2. I know nothing but EC looks contaminated if you ask me in the first ones 4/26. GT looks promising in both 4/26-4/30. GT and EC have similar spotted growth patterns exploding everywhere near inoculation loop drag for 4/30 also didn't get flooded. PT im questioning the seller no visible growth and ruined a kit I bought.

4/30- GT-

EC/4/30-

No, zig zagging with inoculation loop is way more likely to produce clean growth.

It's been a while since microbio but that's how you isolate colonies right it gets rid of a bunch of them along the way

The main idea is that you will spread out whatever you put on agar. So, if there's some contaminants inside, they will only grow in one spot, but you will still be able to get clean growth from the other side of the plate.

Does this look like the bacteria is from something I'm doing wrong in my sab or does it look like maybe my PC isnt hot enough. The pink thai havent done shit and the plates are still clean looking so i feel like that's almost a control example. Maybe just restart and use less spare solution ? What are your thoughts ?

Some have that really clean pattern, but that could be because you swiped the contaminant that was already on the plate, it's hard to say.

Fiar enough thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I'm gonna be using up the rest of these old plates tonight and then I'll be making new ones in glad minis. Do you recommend food coloring ?

The bacteria is from the spore syringe. You just have to let them all grow out a bit and see if myc pops out of the bacteria somewhere so you can transfer it. I much prefer prints for this reason

Ok so for future reference buying and using prints to agar is easier than syringe to agar due to the fact that you lesson the amount of potential contam you have to get rid of. So you think I should just wait for now. Instead of making more plates ? I think it sounds like waiting is best. Dont really wanna waste the last 8 plates I have poured. I have 20 prepourd ones comimg in the mail just to play with and also have pda powder to make more of my own. Thinking of just buying more pda powder off the web.
