    #26641153 - 05/01/20 11:52 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hey everyone, found this mushroom in Balkans growing on a dead stump. From searching online it looks like some type of Ganoderma but not too sure. It has been there for around a month and the color has started to fade.

Habitat
In the forest, Balkan region. Not sure what type of tree.

Gills
Porous, white/creamy colored pores.

Stem
Thick, long stem.

Color
Reddish brown color.

Ganoderma lucidum is very likely.

Thanks a lot for this! The link is also helpful as I found an older map that shows Ganoderma lucidum growing in the area it was found.

Here are some more pics of the underside as I'm still a little unsure of it. The stem color is also more purple/brown than I thought. The underside is also more brown that I thought, which I read is what happens when they mature.

I haven't come across anything reading about these, but are they any deadly lookalikes?

There are no toxic lookalikes.
