PC: no water left, did I dehydrate my rye grain?
    #26641071 - 05/01/20 11:19 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

So I've had this problem once before, the first time I ever PC'd jars.

I think I didn't turn the heat down enough or didn't add enough water.

This time, my jars didn't burn and neither did the grain, as this only happened in the last 20 minutes of cooking. (120 total)

Although, my rye berries do look a lot dryer than before, have I took the hydration out from them? They were soaked for 24 hr. Still okay to inoc?

Thanks and mush love

No, dryer grains seem to work better for me anyway

You got pics yo? Dryer grains can work but depending on severity can slow colonization time.

Do you have a pressure gauge and a weight setup on your PC?

I can get pics soon, but it looks pretty much the same to be fair so it's probably ok. I have a weight that I put on after the steam runs and sounds. Thanks for the reply
