Identification please. Are these BLUEISH??
    #26640359 - 05/01/20 02:16 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

All of these were picked within 30cm of each other.

They were growing from wood chips in and around an old tree stump, leafy parkland.

Are they all the same species? I Think my eyes are picking up some blue colours - if they're all what I think they are, then great.

If it's a mix of species, is it possible mushrooms can pick up some of those blue traits from the soil/ground/mycelium?

Yup-those are all the same species just different stages of growth.

Nice finds

All are Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

Some have white gills because they don't have many mature spores yet.

Hi Mr.Rockefeller, I'm still pretty new to hunting various species, there's a dilemna I have, which is, living in a town in NY, am I being too optimistic in thinking that Ovoids actually grow in my town?

In other words, from your experience, how likely are Psilocybes to even be growing in a certain area (assuming I'm looking in the correct habitat?

Thanks legends! I'm new to this shroom hunting game, and have been searching high and low in urban parklands near where I live. The weather has been cold and wet, and I've seen others on this site have had success in Melb Vic.

I'm hoping this is only the beginning and more shrooms will be popping up as winter approaches.

Ovoids grow in New York.  All mushrooms are patchy - common in some spots, rare in others.  Some years a certain mushroom is everywhere and other years scarce even in good spots.
