How do you deal with having shitty jobs?

Don't get me wrong, i understand the importance of shit jobs and am grateful to have one during this lockdown while others dont currently have the luxury to work at all. Businesses that folks have poured their blood sweat and tears into are now dying out as the super chains continue to grow and thrive at an exponential rate. A lot of dreams are being shot out of the sky right now and I'm not trying to make my situation seem worse off than anyone elses right now.
I used to not mind having a shit job in my early 20s. I must've had about 20 different low-industry bottom of the barrel jobs throughout my life, and it never starts to get to me until i find myself at the same place for over 6 months.
But I find myself here almost 30 now living with my parents and working at walmart for like 9 months just trying to climb out of debt.
I used to have a career doing web development when i lived in denver but since moving back to upstate ny 3 years ago i havent been able to find any stable web work at all. I dont have a car so i cant commute to the city. I've had remote work but it was only contract and didnt last longer than a few months.
I've been working shitty jobs so long I'm starting to get the feeling that this is all i'll ever do. I'll never make more than minimum wage again. Nobody wants to hire someone with a 3-year job gap in IT, i had a hard enough time as it was with 3 years experience and no job gap.
It used to not get to me, the shitty jobs, but now the situation is beginning to seem a lot less like a temporary solution and more like an inevitability
What do yall think of having shitty jobs? What do you do when you find yourself in a long stretch of poverty and monotonty, and little energy or motivation to do anything outside of your shitty job? How do u cope?

I have a master level degree and because of downturns in the economy I've had to do shit, mind numbing work before. It's depressing.
What about if you did some volunteer web dev work for a charity that interests you so you can pad your resume with that? Maybe an animal rescue association or something? That way you'd break the gap and you might find some people who can give any new employers a good review of you.

Read this:
https://www.strike.coop/bullshit-jobs/
It's an essay that's an excert from a book.
Very enlightening IMO.

Extreme repression.
It does get to you eventually. It does crush you eventually. It is a temporary thing. You can't deal with genuinely shitty jobs forever without it somehow breaking you as a person.
I've worked some shitty jobs where people have been there 30+ years and... well it makes me sad to see how they've turned out. A loss of a lifetime of potential and an obvious affliction of their physical and mental health. It's really fucking sad.
And the saddest thing is it doesn't have to be that way.
Only thing you can do man is brain storm and try something new. Anything. Just find something you might have a remote interest in, preferably something that will use your existing skills, and go for it. Worst case scenario is you don't make it or don't like it but at least you'll be moving. The only people I've seen stuck after 30 years were ones that were afraid to make big moves. Moving opens new doors for you. Helps you see more opportunity.
Sitting in the same place... well you're only gonna see the same doors.

Life is short so i just like to be thankful that I'm still kicking.
Sometimes i was working 175 hours in two weeks at two shitty jobs.
I Just looked at it as, a real life mario party. It was honestly a lot of fun. Even if i had to put up with a bunch of bullshit.
Worked 7 days a week for about 11 months.
To many chiefs and stuff. I lost everything but i didnt lose my work ethic. I'm going to make it all back one day. Many times more.
They can take your time, take your money. Never let them take what's on the inside.

Does that mean you get to do drugs with them too?
God I miss having a good crew. That's the biggest benefit to working further down the chain; you get to work with mostly great people.
As one rises however, the density of shit people rises. I am - when it comes to those I must work with in my corporate world - literally surrounded by wankers.
Even those I meet on the periphary that are cool never get to parlay cause they're all so stressed and overworked.
God bless America, land of the free. It's literally the most not free place I've ever been...

Trade up your position. Always invest in your skill set and trade up. It helps tremendously to ask the Lord for help
"Please Lord, grant me the perfect job for perfect pay"

Let’s assume the reason it’s shitty is cuz you can’t just trade up your position.

I kinda have no real ideas or direction in my life in terms of what I actually want to do for the rest of my life as a career, but I gotta pay the bills and I like watching my savings build up so those two points are mostly what keep me motivated these days
It is starting to bother me a bit tho, I thought by age 25 I’d have a better idea of what I want to do with my life but I really don’t, I’d like to get into electrical work or plumbing or some sort of useful trade like that but I just don’t know where to start or how to get my foot in the door for that kind of work, and I live in the middle of nowhere so that makes it harder to figure out
At the end of the day tho I like living where I live and my job isn’t really that shitty, living in Denver working at Good Times was many magnitudes worse and I like to remind myself of that fact from time to time, of course it doesn’t change the fact that I continue to yearn for something better (although I don’t know what) but there’s a whole lot of people in the world in a worse position than me, I have to be thankful for what I have because things could have turned out a whole lot worse for me.

I don't have any advice for you, its crazy how much a vehicle is a necessity to work. I moved into the downtown of my city right next to a subway stop and there is a another stop right next to my work, and i still couldn't get by without a vehicle. You miss a ton of opportunity not having a car, and post pandemic almost every business will be switching to delivery, having a car is essential if you want even an ok gig economy job. I was talking to Amazon delivery guy the other day, not post office or even fed ex, some little courier operation, he said it was $3.25 per package, and he did 125 packages a day. Even minus gasoline expense that's pretty good.

Totally agree with CookieCrumbs.
I’ve stayed in a full time job that I quickly grew to loath for a several years. Only because the job security was excellent, I sucked it up for the first few years but towards the end the late stages of burnout were so pronounced for me that I knew it would be best for me to start fresh and begin perusing a career in an industry that I would enjoy. Probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I had a couple shit jobs in my teens and then when I was 19 I said "Fuck this, never again." I got a low paying job in construction to learn a skill, and eventually many many skills. I worked hard and learned as much as possible. I made myself a very valuable person to have on any job-site. Eventually I became even better than working on a site for someone and started my own business.
Learn a skill, then learn more, always challenge yourself and try to do better. Anytime that you aren't working at Walmart, you should be applying for better jobs and finding programs to further whatever field you decide on. Pick something, stick with it, and then specialize in it.
That's actually just my route and might not work for everybody, but if you put in the effort then it definitely will.

jk. I would say you need a car to go find something in the city. it will be hard right now though. but under nornal circumstances you have to be willing to go where the work is.
