Contaminated Jars? Need your input! 1

So I'm a first time grower and I am a little concerned on what I'm seeing in my BRF cakes. I inoculated my jars a week ago today with the Brazil corumba strain and I have been noticing a difference in color and texture on what my mycelium looks like, compared to what I have seen online. The color is more grey around the edges of where the mycelium is growing. And some areas are just grey ish color, no white. I did PC sterilization on my jars. Just would like to get someone's input who's experienced. I wasn't sure if it is contaminated that it might be cobweb or sour rot? I read that those two are the more common. What do you think? Any feedback would be appreciated!!

Update: Two week mark for colonization. Overall still looks the same. Its weird how some spots are more of a grey color and some have the white mycelium spots in it. Still not sure 100% if its contaminated. Can anyone tell me what that crystallization-like substance between the cake and jar is? Not sure if that's normal or not.

Looks off to me but weird all of them would look the same
Was your brf mixed correctly and brought to field capacity?
You interested in working with agar?
If i was doing only brf jars i would nocc up as many as i had enough spores for

Yep brf was 2to 1 ratio verm to brown rice flour and water. That's what I pretty much did as well. I mixed enough to do the whole 10cc syringe, so I have 10 jars and they all pretty much look the same. Cleaned the lip of the jars on the inside and put dry vermiculite on top before sterilization. I haven't worked with agar before or looked into it quite yet. But if it helps with better results then I'm all for it. I'm having g lots of fun with my new hobby so far Anyways, I'm thinking of just leaving it to see what happens, and in the mean time I might start another batch (golden teacher) just in case my corumba fails to produce.

I don’t know if the tape over the holes is causing the strange look but it can hamper colonization. The dry verm barrier is sufficient protection, as long as you don’t shake the jars around

I would.
Those all your jars?
Agar is easy
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23890579
Mix ingredients, pc, let cool, pour plates in SAB, inoc plates in SAB
Then you can grow a lot of mushrooms if you want
Agar is fun once you get a grow and want to clone

It's hard to tell from the photos but the color and textures look wrong. It looks purple in places to me
When you inoculated, did you flame sterilize the needle before each inoculation? You didn't wipe the needle with alcohol or anything after flame sterilizing?

Nope didn't wipe with alcohol. I did flame sterilization before each jar. I'm wondering if I should take the tape off to see what happens moving forward, but I doubt it's going to change anything. And yea, it does look like a slight purple color on some spots.

It looks interesting. Lime a fool proof way to get clean mycelium with out contaminating. I have 24 jars in total. So far 10 are inoculated

Since you inoculated well, it's most likely your syringe that is contaminated.
Spore syringes are never %100 clean, that's why we don't use them on grains- but they are usually fine for BRF Cakes.
But contaminated syringes happen. Do you have other syringes?

Good! Start new cakes with different syringe. Save some to get into agar work too!
