Took another stroll to my usual spot and stumbled across another patch right near my original one. I must have walked past this patch 3-4 times in the past week. I think my eyesight needs work! Anyway, another 280g wet added to the collection!

Ayy, what nice finds and photos Snookems and MinMax!

In an effort to try and up my photo game I took my camera out with me yesterday. The patch we found earlier this season had some nice specimens but unfortunately no luck was had hunting for some new spots. Hoping to get out after this soaking we're having at the moment.

... and a couple photos of inactives I liked;

 Beautiful finds everyone! ~ It’s only a little moss baby sub for me today. Managed to take this just before it started pouring down;

Does anyone have any tips for cleaning subs? I'm currently using a toothbrush, paper towel and a dry sponge. It's a pretty tedious process but I guess there's no getting around that.

I Would Think The "Teeth" On A Toothbrush Are Too Sturdy & Might Damage A Mushroom. Try Using A Small Art Paintbrush For Cleaning, They Are Soft & Won't Damage Anything, You Can Even Brush The Gills.

A slightly damp paper towel to wipe the dirt of stipes and caps was all I ever needed 👍

Just put them in the sink filled with water and agitate the dirt from the mushrooms. No need to get all technical with cleaning lol.

Had a nice hunt/walk/explore today.
Found a few more small subs ready to pick from my original patch. Revisiting this patch every day seems to provide a few more subs ready to pick.

Exploring the park for any new sub patches, I came across these two little guys. I left them there, hopefully more appear in this spot in the future:

Here are some nice pics of other mushrooms that I liked the look of:

Hi All,
Went for a pick yesterday got a few handfuls. I'm now drying them out on paper and noticing little insects everywhere in the mushroom caps. I've never seen this happen in the past. They seem to be eating the giles. What is the best way to deal with them?

Drying them out straight away will destroy their habitat and they’ll leave of their own volition. To dry ‘em quickly, try a food dehydrator, a heater, or the oven on low with the door open. Have a play to see what works for you.

After a wild hunt and literally every kind of pretender you could imagine, I finally had an incredible find
Among the Larrys, the start of the find...

Picked to ID. Mycelium attached, sturdy stem, holding fast to substrate and blueing

Some extremely big specimens

Second flush from my garden. Look at that beautiful blue bruising. Plenty more pins still in the ground getting bigger too so will hopefully add to this year's stockpile.

The Neighbour's mailbox patch from previous years has started to fruit again. It has now spread out onto their driveway.. This year I won't be doing any in situ photo's there as its a very high risk, high reward spot. where I can't waste precious seconds taking photos. As I've recently learnt that they have a lovely guard dog now.  here's what I managed to quickly pick about a meter or two into the driveway;
 though there was probably more than ten times this amount in plain view. Its one of those patches that is so close yet so far. I swear there's probably kilos of fresh subs that rot into the ground every year over there.
 This one's from the garden;

I'm so jealous of you all. I can only find Larry's! Gonna head off in the morning for 1-2 hours to have a look. Hopefully some of this rain has brought some out. If I'm not finding any mushrooms in an area, is it worth revisiting after some rain?

Great finds guys, huge congrats!
Went for a 7km run along the river to my 'first' ever discovered patch not far from the CBD and was dissapointed to come up completely empty handed. 4 season's ago I would have had 100 of grams but over the years the area's been way over harvested.. Really disappointing to see. And the look alike inactives have also suffered - saw plenty of ripped up and thrown down among the bark and fallen leaves
I'd be nice more people had respect for the practice, but not the case inner east..
But came across some interesting inactives for those interested.
Tomorrow out to my state park patch away from population to enjoy the quietude there on a positive note. Wish me luck
