Old jars..
    #2663767 - 05/11/04 02:57 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

I found a few pretty old jars from my first and only attempt at cultivation thus far..they are fully colonized, still all white and fuzzy inside..but they are close to a year old.  Would these be worth working with at all or should I just toss 'em?

Thanks  :mushroom2:

Butternut squash are softer than acorn or other types of squash, which makes them easier to cut and prepare.

They were kept in a closet in a box in the dark the whole time..Not too warm in there, but not too cool either. I mean, they do look somewhat usable..but I have next to no experience with mushroom cultivation, so I really have no idea. I figured they were probably dead having been in jars for so long without any air..

well they have been getting air(even if its just a little or the mycelluim wouldnt have colonized completely.
I bet those cakes are so dry if you  dunked those they would suck up so much water there would be a drought.
Give it a try.As long as you rehydrate them they could very well be fine.Dunk them cakes! :goodluck:
