So now that I have uploaded the pictures, does anyone know this mushroom? Found in Maryland today. Also, is it edible?

OP, did you happen to take a spore print? The gills look a little light for that stage of growth. Other than that the features near perfectly match rugosso-annulata.

With King Stropharia, at least here in Washington, they’re in their prime right before the veil breaks. Flies will often lay eggs between gills and at some point you’ll likely get larvae. They’re pretty easy to cultivate and they’re pretty good eats. Dry fry most of the water out, sauté in garlic and butter and throw them in a pasta.

I did not take a spore print because I do not know how. I’m just getting into morel hunting and came across this big guy. Thank you for your response
