I went to feed and turn my “compost” bin this morning, and found the spent shoeboxes I’ve been tossing in Along with some slimy guys and dirt, pulled 194g wet from this bed.

looks good remove the paper towels though no reason for them to ever be in an arrangement like that
Thankyou EtherealMind, could be part of the edge contamination problem. Will do!

Culture dishes came in. They were mispriced on amazon prime, $40 for 300. Theyre 35mm, but at that price we'll make it work.

Those will work out just fine. You could pour close to 150 plates with a liter of agar!

Little Timmy here says 'Yay! Trim!'. Bunnies love cannabis leaves, long as there's no frost on em they're safe for em!
I've heard rabbit poo can be used for cubes, any truth to this? This little guy uses his litter box and everything! Would have to compost it though I'm sure...

Better suited for general discussion, but from my understanding, any herbaceous mammals' skat will work... but with coir as easy and accessible (and poo free) as it is... why? Lol... it's free I suppose, but probably need mixed with wheat straw or something similar to fluff it up a bit

Spawned a Second tub with camburgers (an albino Cambodian isolation) first tub seems to be doing pretty good for being on day 5. First one is 1:2 grain just to be safe, this time I’m attempting 1:4 .
I have a question, I’ll be going across the country and will be there for 2 weeks starting the 11th of May, will I miss the fruiting period 26 days from now? I’m trying to figure out the timing since I’ve never done this before and am considering whether or not to hand them off to a trusted person to watch for me while I’m away, what do you think? Could I just set and forget them?

You’ll prob be able to harvest right before you go, might be a little early but whatever.
You’ll for sure miss the second flush though so if it ends up taking longer to start fruiting you might be better off having someone take over rather than harvest way too early and then have the second flush go way too long.

This is from a couple of hours ago!
Some of them look pretty ripe and ready!
Tub A

Tub B

I can't wait any longer, want to harvest and clone ASAP, maybe tomorrow, latest Friday. Dry, and have a magical weekend!
I noticed the surface of the substrate in some areas where it's visible is starting to bruise or turn bluish. Is that perhaps due to it being too dry?
Thank you fellow shroomers for keeping this community alive, especially during this Covid situation!

Nice job! The fruits suck so much water from the sun especially in the last couple days.. it’s totally normal for a PE sub to turn blue.. I’d mist it heavily right after you harvest and maybe again the next day too. That’s usually worked well for my second flushes.

Yeah PE tubs consistently turn blue for me after first flush. I thought they were contaminted for a while when I first started doing PE

Updates on the crazy pinset ecuador and a little comparison between my ecuador and TOC I have going on. The TOC fruits needed a dubtub on the shoebox already. Ecuador are really short, matured fully without a dubtub.

It was a gift from a friend, and it came from a reputable vendor.
It was just labelled as 'Penis Envy'
Thanks for the heads up about the blue substrate layer.
Probably going to bottom water, harvest big guys with open caps, and let them pin and fruit more!
Yayyyy! It's going to be a magical weekend indeed!
See you guys in hyperspace, or innerspace!
