Saves space in storage.
Homogeneous, easily weighed, accurate doses.
Anonymity. Difficult to tell what powder in a jar is. Could be any type of ground mushrooms.
Mixes well. With just about anything. Sprinkle some on whatever, or in some coffee or tea for a nice microdose. I like chocolate.

It's fun! I enjoy smashing down large quantities of mushrooms. Makes me feel a sense of accomplishment seeing/handling so many.

Hey Ham - how long have you kept them in storage? Do you use any kind of desiccant? This seems like a very smart way to be covert as long as it doesn’t degrade.

Long time. If kept in an airtight glass container in a dark place like a cabinet. I've had some kept for over a year with no noticeable potency loss.

I noticed you use a m&p. Doesn't it feel like you're some wizard making a potion?
I would recommend a coffee grinder

It sure as fuck does! A primal feeling.

I prefer a slow action grinding of m&p, coffee grinders are kinda violent.

Interesting, metaphysics of the swirling blades. Heard the same line for using a burr grinder over a blade grinder for coffee beans themselves.

How long does it take to powderize one mortar bowl of mushrooms? I'll try grinding them next time I trip, mixing the desired dose into yoghurt or something could be fantastic. Before I switched to making tea I always gagged on the dried mushroom chunks that taste like dirt and ass, it should be easier to handle as powder.
Cute dog!

Cute dog!
Takes maybe three to five minutes to grind down about a half ounce.
Thanks! She is my sunshine!

Should the m&p have a bit of roughness to it to aid with grinding? The only one I have is perfectly smooth metal and seems it wouldnt be able to grind well.

Anything course will eventually be worn down. My mortar is made of stone so it's naturally a little rough from milling. Pestle is rather smooth even though it's made of the same kind of stone.
I have seen those metal m&p, some with a lid. Also ceramic which is smooth.
Throw some mushrooms in and see what happens.

As someone very new to growing, I powder my shrooms, too, but not all of it as I dry them. Right now I have about 22 grams of powdered Costa Rico cubes in 00 capsules, in a large, covered mason jar with a desiccant. The rest of my dried shrooms are also in mason jars, but whole, labeled for date they were dried, and the strain, since I grew both Golden Teacher and Costa Rico. My reasoning, whether right or wrong is that, even though cracker-dry shrooms last a really long time in an airtight jar with a desiccant, when you powder them, you vastly increase the surface area of the dried shrooms, and more of said surface is exposed to whatever air is in the jars. I believe that leaving them whole, and only powdering aout 20 or so grams at a time, then stuffing them into 00 capsules, should mean that they will last a little longer in storage.
Whether this is true or not I have no idea, but it makes some sense. So basically I powder and encapsulate about 1-2 months worth of shrooms for easy tripping consumption, and when I start running low with the current 22 grams I have powdered now, then I will powder some more.
