Big thanks to Just_A_Noob for sending me a APEU swab.
Read in a earlier post that APEU is a heavy fruiter that doesn't even need a clone to do well...so I did several MS tubs
First MS tub of many...Will report back with the other tubs when they are done...
Wet Weight: 1870g

Thanks !
If this is just MS, excited to see what clones can do. The ones here seemed to be somewhat hollow stems and medium size ish fruits. Very nice clusters though.

They bruise angrily after being swabbed.

You mean the surface or the substrate? The substrate not colonizing is most likely caused by bacteria.

That cap reminds me of sand dollars.
I have an apeu going now too that barely colonized the surface, mostly just knots. But the coir was also under hydrated and dried out on top.

Yeah I think I was too rough with it. Gonna test a swab in a few days and see if it still wants to pop or if I pushed the spores onto the swab too hard.

What's the rough time average between casing and pin onset (assuming you case right at 100% colonization)?

I should have mentioned I'm specifically growing APE.... I read a lot about the need for casing vs not casing. Couldn't really find a consensus other than it comes down to which genetics you have, and that casing helps prevent blobs for a lot of people. That's about the best consensus I got.
If you don't case..... about how long does it take to see pins from the time you hit 100% conslidation?

APE doesn't need to be cased either. I would say 17-21 days give or take. I've seen a few people's APE pin around 14 days in.
