Syringe Luer Lock 1

Hi
A couple of spore syringes turned up yesterday, but here’s a strange one; the syringe will not fit onto the needle.
The needle has the usual pink coloured “luer lock”. But the syringe has a large black plastic bit coming out, that is way too big to fit into the needle’s pink fitting. If I take the black plastic bit out of the syringe, the contents will spill out.
So reckon I could save by squirting into sterile glass jar then sucking back up into one of my saved sterile syringes.
Or is there anything I am missing? What do you guys reckon?

I have contacted the vendor, but as yet they haven’t replied.
Cheers DJ Ed

If you hold the syringe with the black cap facing up you can remove the cap without loosing any contents in the syringe. Quickly screw in the needle and you'll be good to go.

Yeah, that's a cap on that syringe and you can unscrew it and then screw your needle in.

We have all had that moment.
But yes it is the syringe lock. Just twist to remove and insert needle.

Unfortunately if that needle was exposed to air like that for a long time, it may not be sterile anymore. Did you squirt some water out of the syringe right after you screwed the needle in?

No it was in a SAB; put straight back in bag and into Fridge. I’ll be best getting all of this into agar, just in case.....
