Broken CAKES - Be careful of European Jars! PICTURES
    #26635833 - 04/29/20 02:06 AM (4 years, 8 months ago)

I just realized that all my 20 cakes that are prepared (for almost 2 months) are stuck in a jar due to the "a bit" wider bottom that jars that are shown in most TEKs.

I had to force them to come out by pressing and pulling and I destroyed some of them - Will it affect the fruiting much :frown: ?

It looks almost the same but I pretty sure its not.

Damn. It also looks like u made your cakes too wet, which can also cause fracturing. What recipie do u use?

Next time use a rubber mallet to help it slide out the jar.

I'd crumble them up into a shoebox.

Great idea on the crumble-into-shoeboxes suggestion.

Thats too bad the mallet didnt even work. I guess American Kerr, Anchor and Ball jars win this time! (sorry UK).

You mean crumble them on the surface and then what?

I saw that idea with a casing layer but then I need a PC for sterilization the layer and other ingredient. Am I right  ?

You don't need a PC for coir or vermiculite. You just need to hydrate them.
