Tiny spot of green on cake in fruiting chamber * 1
    #26635638 - 04/28/20 11:23 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

There is a tiny spot of green on a cake that my friend is growing. I can't tell if it's trich.

When they were birthed they looked great - no contams to speak of. They have been in the fruiting chamber for about 2.5 weeks now, and they JUST started to pin. My friend put a lot of effort into this, but I've read she should just bail on everything, burn it all down and start again. There are 7 other cakes in the chamber, and it looks like 3 of them has these potential spots.

Is she done for? Is there anything that can be done? She is quite bummed out - she put lots of love into them

Could be bruising. Can u get a closer pic by chance?

If it is green mold (trich), isolate the cake in a seperate fruiting chamber or even a gallon sized baggie if u dont have a spare FC.

If they're put in a gallon bag, do they just sit in there until it's time to flush?

Here's a closer pic (best I could get with my old phone):

Thanks for the pic.

Id say its bruising. Trich is green, that looks more blue which is the color of bruising. but keep an eye on it for now. U dont need to isolate the cake, leave as is for now...

Keep doing what you're doing when it comes to fruiting, cakes seem to enjoy the microclimate you're providing so far. Hard to tell from those pics what's going on tho if it's bruising or sporulating, like Chaos said no need to intervene just yet until anything becomes too obvious. Nice looking pins

Thank you for the feedback so far

Here's what they look like this morning. Kind of looks like bruising, but I really can't tell, and it's on multiple cakes, so that doesn't make a ton of sense

Nice pins 😍🥰 :mushroom2:

That looks pretty blue but also kind of dark for bruising that I’ve seen. Rub a wet q-tip on the blue and if it rubs off it’s mold. I think it’s bruising though it doesn’t look like an outer layer of something growing.
