Yeah I'm no fan of that. If one has read a great article and wishes to share, can they not sum it up?

You're thinking of the pre-COVID economy. Food will become more expensive and more scarce. These are the last cheap quarter megaton of potatoes Canada produces until COVID is over and te economy resumes.

Yes, a lot of hardship coming and plenty of time to regret the haphazard panic reaction.

Doubtfully.
Just like air. We don't build windmills just because wind is free and there. Windmills are the entire cost of wind energy. Same with processed food. The food itself is nearly meaningless in the scheme of things. Transportation, energy, labor, etc... A frozen hash brown Patty's cost is 99.99% not potato.
It takes economic viability to make the processed food

Beer same thing. All of the cost is the bottle/can, crown/cap, label or print, packaging holders and cardboard boxes, labor, transportation, energy. The beer in the can is simply marketing to sell you the container

Yeah that’s definitely the case The beer I enjoy is just a marketing gimmick, I should drink natty lite instead

That’s not what he’s saying. He’s talking about the entire cost to get it into the place you buy it from. That doesn’t mean the beer itself is irrelevant. It’s just not what you’re actually paying for.

He has a bit of a point.
I'm not really a huge beer drinker, and now that I'm grown and more refined I know what I like and what I don't like. But when I was just a wee underaged lass working at a shady bar that let me drink all the time, I definitely made choices almost solely based on packaging. The craft scene was exploding, and I'm a sucker for interesting packaging
...And I definitely still do as far as wine and liquor choices. A pretty bottle, or interestingly designed six pack grabs my attention. I can't help it, it's just my stupid lizard brain.

I’ll admit some of those sleeves / logos are pretty nifty. Delude yourself into thinking that drinking fermented X is now something much more.

Even if the logistics make it next to impossible I wouldn’t want my name coming up as someone who wasted food if there is hunger caused by a supply line break. If I were Mr. Potatohead CEO and there was absolutely no other way I’d keep that shit as down low as possible cause hungry people might not give af about the reason.

Its like so warm and sunny outside. I love going outside but its still weird to come back inside and then go online and see everyone still "shutting in to avoid pandemic."
I think if you wear the gloves and mask and don't get on a plane for the next few months and don't go to the hospital for awhile you will be fine.
Also though I must admit its nice outside because so many people are not out. Still a lot of assholes but every piece of grass is practically a deserted park. 50% less traffic 50% less lines 50% less aggression 50% less go go go 50% less shoulder to shoulder want to shoot people bullshit. Perhaps I should get on what everyone else is on and bring up bad stats and tell everyone to stay inside.
that is not my style. I believe people are adults and are free to do what they want regardless of risk. I don't suggest sky diving but people do it anyway. It is their choice.
All I am saying is damn is it nice out.

The problem with this analogy is that one doesn't put the lives of countless people down the chain at risk when one chooses to go skydiving.

Ugh when will people learn that freedom of speech does not allow them to freely spam whatever shit they feel like on private platforms with no subject to rules and moderation.
