Who may be an actual, and potential/better candidate for the Dems besides Joe Biden? Andrew Yang? At least he’s young and has some nifty ideas, as well as the ability to pull of appearing with presidential-regality in public. Unless Trump puts his foot in his mouth and leaves it there till November I don’t see the Dems winning this thing, on account of their lackluster nominee. Not that I want Trump, but quite literally anything is better than an 80+ y.o. man with dementia. Sad thing is, Dems (party wise) are keeping his medical condition under wraps and on the hush hush - but since he’s running for President- they can all fuck off and go to hell, because that is irresponsible and dangerous.

Old people are the only ones that vote and seniors are scared shitless to leave the house. No president gets re-elected in a recession, but it's more likely that Trump's creditors in China, Deutche Bank and the Russian mob will start calling in his loans and he'll be facing bankruptcy when he can't get re-elected. He'll have a stroke or heart attack on election night because his ego won't allow him to lose such a public humiliation.

Cuomo.
I think he'll run in 2028, if not '24.
He's not my ideal candidate, but I would vote for him over Biden in a heartbeat.
I didn't cast a vote, cuz I just don't know. Trump wiggles his way out of any and all accountability. COVID just may do it, but I just don't know. I've learned from 2016 not to pin my beliefs on my hopes.
If USPS isn't able to carry out mail in ballots for the entire country we're fucked though.

Since we’ve been able to test so many people for covid, getting ballots out and back again to the public should be easy . I jest, regardless of covid, getting everyone ballets and getting them back and counted would be quite a feat. Or did you mean simply via mailing? Or what?
And yeah, I forgot about Cuomo. That would do. Like I said, most options are better than what’s available atm.

Mail in voting is already a thing in many other countries and states - absentee ballots are already a thing in all 50, should be no reason why we all can't cast a vote using absentee ballots this fall. Logistically, we should be able to handle it. It's gonna take longer, but there's no reason why people should be forced to risk their life to vote.
It's just congress passed a rule about 10ish years backs that requires USPS to fund themselves(everything, up to and including the pensions of people not even born yet) for 75 years in the future.
This is making them insolvent, and if someone doesn't act, and do away with that ridiculous rule, we may not have a post office by November.
It's worth mentioning that up until this rule was passed, USPS was totally self sufficient.

It's hard when the world is so fucking chaotic, and things happen at the speed of light, I know.
And the crazy thing is we don't even have to prop up the postal service! We just have do away with the rule saying they need to fund themselves nearly 100 years into the future. I cannot in anyway imagine how that legislation was passed in good faith. I think it was around 2008 that congress passed it but I'm not totally sure..somewhere around there.

I can not imagine anyone else besides him getting the next term. In the world of the blind the one eyed man is king. This is unfortunate but wait until everyone gets to the voting boxes and see how true the metaphor becomes. The Democrats have spent vast amounts of energy proving how many people he killed. All he has to do is prove how many people he did not kill and he will be transformed into the person who saved 7 billion lives minus a few hundred thousand.
As ridiculous and unpalatable as this may seem I am so sure this is 100% the tactic he will use and its execution will be brilliant to say the least. Not brilliant in real terms but brilliant to watch all the words people have slandered him with go to waste. To beat him in polls you would have to go beyond proving he did a bad job. You would have to prove someone else did matter. So far I see no one doing better but simply complaining about how bad he is doing.
Let me go back to the first thing I said. In the world of the blind the one eyed man is king. I mean we all see this coming so no surprise

Just playing. Not sure how it will turn out. According to my Pleiadian Prophecy book, a new president is coming to take over but we'll see.

People who vote think in such simple ways. They do not want to meet the devil they do not know in favor of the one they do know. People can make Trump look as bad as anybody and all he has to do is prove no one could do better then him. Right now that is really simple. His formula: do 1% of what he could be doing. Everyone else's forumula: do absolutely nothing except bash him.
I see this being a land slide victory for him. Personally all the candidates this year to me suck worst then any other election I have ever seen. At this point I would not mind seeing Obama get a 3rd term. Dare I say it? I really did not like him after all. He had a predictability to him though I got very used to. He was like this placebo president. He really sucked but everyone felt so confident when he was around. He was a sugar pill president. A total puppet.
I guess people don't want that anymore. They want a real right winger to put em in their place and make them do stuff like a homework tutor making a child do their homework. its so easy to see how this will turn out. I would be tempted to bet a million dollars Trump gets another term. I do not have a million to bet and gambling is dangerous. I would bet good money on it though. I see no one else coming close.
People love to hate him. They love to hate him so much its unbelievable how much they want him around.

I wish we never needed another president. I think this part time tyrant job we always have filled is ridiculous. You have to pay them $500,000 a year and The White House costs about a million a day to run not to mention its always some ridiculously rich person to begin with. We already have this huge group of membership called Congress made up of The House and The Senate. Why do we need a president? Wtf does anybody ever expect from a president? To be a nice guy? You will always get an Obama or a Trump, some person willing to lay down massively un necessary dictatorial power in all sorts of weird situations that tips all the way to one side or another.
Your area has a mayor and all the local politicians, a governor and all the senators, then congressional representatives, then you have judicial on top of the legislative so why even need executive? Can't we petition this shit out? Every year its the same thing, some fake president in some half made up situation that became real and all the press calling them fake ready to dethrone them and then replace them with the next fake world leader etc.
Couldn't we just have an appointed member of Congress go to the UN meetings? I mean that should about wrap it up. The days of needing political experience are long gone. You just have to be a fresh college graduate everybody wants to hear talk all your shit like super left winger AOC or a huge business magnate hotel owner like super right winger Donald Trump. The whole system of voting for who you want despite their experience is beyond ridiculous. It was a way forward out of a feudal system and at the time they made a law that anyone could run as a candidate so elections could not be fixed. You can write Donald Duck on a piece of a paper and if he is running he will get a vote. But in the 21st century having at least one days experience to get elected would be a nice thing. Just one. I mean the system is so corrupt that even having that idea would be wrong because all candidates could be corrupt. You need a system where if you want to vote the dog in you can. Well what do you expect? Basically he with the most advertising power is going to win.
Same with the CDC. How do you get a job there? With previous experience in disease control? obviously that has nothing to do with it.
People are so sick of Democracy they would prefer Communism. Sometimes its almost sad they cannot get a taste of it just to grant their wishes.

I’m Canadian and I don’t follow politics all too much but hasn’t America re-elected like the last 3 or 4 presidents for a second term? Track record is sorta starting to say Trump will get re-elected based on that.
It really doesn’t matter what happens in America politically, the future is a war.

I'm not saying we should let Iran harass our aircraft carriers, and they suck almost as much as we do(and merely lack the resources to suck as much on a global level) but my god, it's a depressing fact that war is profit in this country.

The stock market isn't the economy. The economy is going to be at 25% unemployment. I doubt it drops below 15% before the election. There is no way he gets elected losing that much of the vote.

That's dated april 22. Oil has shit the bed so much deeper since then. Like Futures are under $25 all the way to August. Brent is falling off a cliff too.

Oof. The days are blending together.
Nonetheless, it still skeeved me out. One of those warped and normalized things that just is really kind of a little fucked up.
I don't like this society. I feel like ever since world war II we've just been chasing non stop war to line the coffers of a few people.
That's my overly simplified feelings on the issue.

talk to your local farmers. the farmers markets are closed i bet they're having a hard time too. get your neighbors to invest in a dozen laying hens and help you build a coop if you have the space. if you have any outdoor space and water there really is no excuse. otherwise get your people together and go take over a vacant lot or a corner of the park

This is probably right. At the very least it shakes up the trump base. Take away peoples job, money, food and they vote for change... although Biden has sexual assault allegations hanging over him and I haven’t seen him in the news cycle since COVID hit. If your not in the news you have problems.

we're gonna need to commandeer distribution networks and facilities. trucks boats and planes, oil refineries. for now. once we take care of the infrastructure piece we'll start mass producing enough solar panels to power it and build massive recycling facilities everywhere. work on that while i bake some cookies for our military ill be workin on them

communication is crucial, that's probably going to be the hardest part. there's a few routes we can go on that one. im thinking if we act quick we can still buy out most of the telecorporations and make them non profits. israel will be pissed. that's ok we should just stop talking to them. if we can get elon musk were golden. let's start brushing up on our russian and mandarin too, just in case

I voted for Bernie Sanders during the primary. I am so angry that Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race and that we now have Joe Biden running. Bernie Sanders promised me Marijuana legalization. Bernie Sanders promised Medicare for all. Joe Biden is against Medicare for all. Joe Biden said if he was president he would veto Medicare for all. The democrats can’t promise me something and then take it away and then just expect me to still vote for Joe Biden anyway. No. Not going to happen. I am voting for Donald Trump now. I was really hoping Bernie Sanders would become President. But I know in my heart that Joe Biden can never become President. If Donald Trump runs against Joe Biden, I already know Joe Biden loses and Donald trump is re-elected. Joe Biden opposes Marijuana legalization.

Yeah, im gonna call Obamas birth cert real. Maybe if Obama had an non-American accent i would look into the possibility of it being faked, but definitely seems legit at this point, in my opinion.
But havent really done any research on it, so im basing that off limited info

i really shouldn't it could be the shortest year ever
anyway everybody gets a half acre of arable land and a pair of goats unless they already own property. let's rip out all the invasive ornamental european and exotic transplants and replace them with things that bear good fruit. all those neighborhood trees are sucking up valuable space if they're not producing food. just go cut em down, save the wood you might need it. replace them with somethibg delicious. every street, every park, public space, unused field. apples and plums will grow anywhere. we might not have that long but we will sure be glad they're there if we make it that far
for now let's focus on short season, high protein, long storage life

no fish today. been thinking about money and how that parts gonna work. we should try to make it a priority to take over the banks, unless you guys want to get rid of them completely I'm down with that too. or we should just start our own banks, maybe a system of small, locally-owned co-op style/community-based banks. if we're not gonna burn it all to the ground lets strategically buy out all the large corporations, and turn em into non profits

Everything that needs a bailout should be nationalized. You can have privatized profits and shared public loses for a firm. That's a klepotcracy. If the firm is nationally important you bail it out, nationalize it and move on (like Boeing). If it's not nationally important like Macy's, you let it fail and crumble.

At the fall of the Berlin Wall the Treuhandanstalt commission decided which firms in East Germany were competitive and important to the country and which were not and should fail. It was a highly difficult bureaucratic decisions, but ultimately led to an economic powerhouse. You gotta cut off a few fingers to save the limb.
Opposite that is Japan's multidecade experiment with quantitative easing and zero percent interest rates. It can be argued that they aren't quite comparable because of Japan's demographics.
But I strongly believe that not everyone should be bailed out. Fragile systems are made stronger by letting small parts of it fail from time to time. It reduces the excesses and bad players. Continuing to prop up shitty firms is a terrible policy in the long run.

I voted as follows: YES - The Dems have no suitable candidate.
There are many reasons why I believe that, the overarching reason being that Joe Biden is simply uninspiring to people. Trump's base, on the other hand, is as rabid as ever to see to it that their candidate gets re-elected.

I think they are both suffering from mental decline. Truthfully, they are about the same in my book. For those who think Joe Biden's policies would be any different from Trump's, they are deluding themselves, IMO.

Biden's irrelevant. Trump is losing the election because he's an insecure bigmouth paranoid narcissist who still sees everything revolving around his ego, while the country is in the biggest crisis in 80 or 90 years. Biden could fingerfuck the moderator of the debate and Trump will still lose in November.

Lets start with dumping our dollars and US treasury bonds and ending the dollar's reign as the world's reserve currency.
We, the world, are tired of picking up the tab for the Federal Reserve's printing of surplus dollars.

Joe Biden is putting the metoo movement in a very awkward situation right now because they said, believe all women, and now sexual assaulr allegations are being made about joe Biden. Voting for Joe Biden means that you no longer believe all women. They were happy about the metoo movement when it was against Kavanaugh because he is a republican they tried to stop him being on the Supreme Court. But voting for Joe Biden means you turn your back on the metoo movement. Regardless of that, I’m mostly angry because Joe Biden opposes Marijuana legalization. Imagine running for president of the USA as a DEMOCRAT in 2020 while opposing Marijuana legalization. He is suppose to be a democrat! How could a democrat be doing that in 2020! These are the modern days! Canada legalized marijuana in 2018 it is 2020 now! A vote for joe Biden is a vote to step backwards. How dare you Joe Biden. How dare you call yourself a democrat while being so conservative. Conservative republican basically. In 2024 if the democrat running for president opposes marijuana legalization I will vote republican again like I am in 2020. I’m a democrat. But my principles matter more than political party. I would never disrespect myself by voting blue no matter who. No. That’s shameful. Only vote blue if you agree with the candidate. Me and Joe Biden disagree regarding almost everything. All the things that Bernie Sanders promised Joe Biden is against. Anyone who is a real Bernie Sanders supporter should vote Donald Trump. If you believe in Bernie Sanders then don’t listen to Bernie Sanders when he says vote Joe Biden. Bernie Sanders turned on the American people when he endorsed Joe Biden. I used to respect Bernie Sanders BEFORE he endorsed Joe Biden. Now Bernie Sanders has sold out. And shamed himself. Your principals should matter more than blind loyalty to the democrat party. Joe Biden said vote for the other guy if you don’t like him. That’s exactly what I will do. Joe Biden gave me the middle finger.

Honestly, they don't even have to do that. Our voting software and databases have next to no actual security, and they're super vulnerable. Every attempt to pass any kind of bill that fixes these issues(some of them disturbingly simple!!) has been DOA in the senate, and a good chunk of the states are using voting machines that have no verifiable paper trails too.
Infosec people have been screaming about this for years, but every attempt to act on it crashes and burns.

Hopefully Trump will win. It's unbelievable how far the left is willing to go just to win the election.

I was thinking he would win no matter what, but in light of this new info in recent weeks and that photo op in front of the church, I'm not sure. In the back of my mind I still think he has a chance unfortunately.

Agreed. Coronavirus ain't going away anytime soon either. An estimated 6% of my state got infected and 5500 people died with one of the strictest and earliest lockdowns in the country. Even if it's very mild for a lot of people, that ifr may be but little, but it's enough to fuck any healthcare system up unless measures are taken.

Yeah. What the fuk were the Dems thinking of when they pushed Biden up there. Were they hoping he would catch the Covid and get some sympathy groundswell in their favour, or what the fuk?
Trump looks like a shoe in. And, fuk the 'Brexiteer's who look up to this cunt. They will soon find that the shoe is on the other foot when trade negotiations get under way and face the bully boy tactics of this shitstain bitch born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

The 6 months leading up to the election are all that matters. Unemployment will still be well over 10% in november. No incumbent president gets reelected with unemployment that high.

He removed the rioters because of curfew and that they burned part of the church.
Id expect a leftie to be gullible though Id expect a leftie tk actually prefer a party that nominated a dementia patient that cant even campaign. Aparty that uses immigration so it can win as a betrayal to white america.

Yeah, because all of it could've been mitigated much more effectively if we hadn't completely gutted our pandemic team, and listened to the intelligence reports that were warning back in...November?
Now that a lot of states are still reopened unemployment is fucked because no one is spending money or doing things as they usually would. You can reopen however fast you want, but the pandemic is not just gonna go away no matter how badly we want to ignore it. So now not only are we poised for a higher death toll, our economy is a also fucked. He dragged this whole thing out and turned a serious crisis into an unprecedented disaster.

I am not a "leftie" if that's what you're trying to label me as. I did not know of the night before when the church had an attempt to burn it down. I do know that there was an unnecessary use of force so that the president could look good in front of his followers. The church was not warned, and reporters have stated there was no warning. In light of the situation the president could have called the diocese ahead of time and then the parishioners could have tried to disperse the crowd. It's a very tense and tough situation, but that/those actions were plain wrong.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/religious-leaders-lawmakers-outraged-over-trump-church-visit-n1221876
WASHINGTON — Lawmakers and religious leaders — including the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington — voiced outrage after police used tear gas against peaceful protesters outside the White House before President Donald Trump's photo op at nearby St. John's Episcopal Church on Monday evening.
Bishop Mariann Budde said Tuesday that Trump held up the Bible in front of St. John's "as if it were a prop or an extension of his military and authoritarian position."
Budde, in an interview with Craig Melvin on NBC's "TODAY" show, said that what Trump did in front of the church she oversees "was an abuse of the spiritual tools and symbols of our traditions and of our sacred space."
"He didn't come to church to pray, he didn't come to church to offer condolences to those who are grieving," she said. "He didn't come to commit to healing our nation, all the things that we would expect and long for from the highest leader in the land."
A look at the damage inside St. John’s Church in Washington, DC JUNE 2, 202002:56 Budde said Trump didn't inform the diocese about his visit to the church. Asked if he is a frequent worshipper at the church, Budde responded: "No, never. The only time that President Trump has been at St. John's church as president was on the morning of his inauguration."
(Trump has visited the church twice since being elected president.)

The Rev. James Martin, a prominent Jesuit priest and author, said in a statement, "Using the Bible as a prop while talking about sending in the military, bragging about how your country is the greatest in the world, and publicly mocking people on a daily basis, is pretty much the opposite of all Jesus stood for."
He added: "Let me be clear. This is revolting. The Bible is not a prop. A church is not a photo op. Religion is not a political tool. And God is not a plaything."
Rabbi Jack Moline, president of Interfaith Alliance, said in a statement Monday, "Seeing President Trump stand in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church while holding a Bible in response to calls for racial justice — right after using military force to clear peaceful protesters out of the area — is one of the most flagrant misuses of religion I have ever seen. This only underscores the president's complete lack of compassion for Black Americans and the lethal consequences of racism."
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a joint statement that Trump is "ripping" the country apart when Americans are crying out for unity over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week in police custody.
"Tear-gassing peaceful protesters without provocation just so that the president could pose for photos outside a church dishonors every value that faith teaches us. We call upon the president, law enforcement and all entrusted with responsibility to respect the dignity and rights of all Americans,” Pelosi and Schumer said.
The two Democratic leaders said the nation needs "real leadership" during this challenging time and added, "The president’s continued fanning of the flames of discord, bigotry and violence is cowardly, weak and dangerous."
The fierce reaction came after U.S. Park Police and National Guard troops around 6:30 p.m. ET began using tear gas and flash bangs against protesters demonstrating peacefully around Lafayette Square next to the White House, sending the crowd running in all directions. Trump delivered brief remarks in the White House Rose Garden as this unfolded just steps away, and said that he will fight to protect the rights of peaceful protesters.
After the president made his statement, it became clear that the crowd was dispersed because he and other White House officials walked over to St. John’s church across the street and Trump took photos outside of it, holding a Bible.
"What the hell did we just watch?!" tweeted Rep. Donna Shalala, D-Fla.
"Fascism in the flesh," tweeted Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J.
Several other lawmakers also described Trump as fascist, including Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., who tweeted: "The fascist speech Donald Trump just delivered verged on a declaration of war against American citizens. I fear for our country tonight and will not stop defending America against Trump’s assault."
Addressing Trump directly about the police tear-gassing peaceful demonstrators, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., tweeted, "The Bible can’t help you if you don’t open it."
"He handled the Bible like the ape handled the bone in '2001:A Space Odyssey.'"
Republicans, meanwhile, rallied behind Trump.
"Historic moment as @POTUS Trump reclaims St. John’s Church for America! God Bless America!!" tweeted Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.
"Incredibly powerful moment as @realDonaldTrump walked to St. John's Church, where every past president since Madison has prayed for the wellbeing of our country. We must come together as a country, and I thank @POTUS for leading the effort to protect law and order," tweeted Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo.
The walk Trump made "through the burned out and graffiti-covered Lafayette Park," Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, tweeted, "was a powerful reminder that Americans will not be intimidated by lawlessness and violence."
Sources told NBC News that Trump's unannounced walk to the church "was his idea" because he "wanted the visual." The president was frustrated by news reports that Secret Service officers ushered him to the White House bunker during Friday night's unrest.
One source told NBC that the church visit was meant to make Trump look strong and in charge — in that it had all the elements of “pushing protesters out of his space, sending in the troops, leaving the White House, and visiting a church." Sources told NBC the White House thinks the photo op was successful and "went great."

Asked for comment about the use of force on a peaceful demonstration, White House spokesperson Judd Deere said in a statement: "The perimeter was expanded to help enforce the 7:00 pm curfew in the same area where rioters attempted to burn down one of our nation’s most historic churches the night before. Protesters were given three warnings by the U.S. Park Police."
Several journalists covering the protests in the park report that they did not hear any such warnings.
District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser blasted Trump for what police did to demonstrators outside the White House, which occurred before the 7 p.m. ET curfew she had instituted for the city.
"I imposed a curfew at 7 pm. A full 25 minutes before the curfew & w/o provocation, federal police used munitions on peaceful protestors in front of the White House, an act that will make the job of @DCPoliceDept officers more difficult. Shameful! DC residents — Go home. Be safe," Bowser tweeted.
