Difference between floating vs sunken innoculent?

So ive been making LC for a while now... and this is the first time Ive noticed one of my batches having all the innoculent falling to the bottom vs floating like all my others have.
What does that mean? The LC is contaminated? They look the same when you spin the bottle and it all floats around.
Pics for reference...

so, the one on the right is "floating" and left is "sunken", am I correct? I have never seen lc looking like that one on the left.

No the opposite... in the first pic, the one on the left is suspended/floating as you can see its more than halfway up bottle... the one on the right is mostly sunken towards the bottom... you can see most of the liquid on the right has nothing in it except for the bottom 10% or so of the bottle.

I'm curious if in the sunken one is cause more of the heavier sugar particles settled towards the bottom so it colonized better there.

Ive poured both from the same bottle of LC as a transfer to both these bottles.. and they both were made with 2 grams of Light Malt extract. I guess Ill knock up jars using both and keep track of whats what.

That solves my guess then. Yeah you'll have to just test it out.

I have some that used to float but now are on the bottom. I just assumed they were dead but now I’m gonna try one.

Most mine turn out like on the left, they stay fluffy. Could be different types of growth maybe, one's more compact and so is sinking. Put em both on some plates/jars and see which goes faster!
