*PICS* Blue mutants or what? 1

One of my cultures throws out these blue mushrooms. Is this something common? Does it have a name (like pale ones are called leucistic)? Is this genetic/mutation, or is this caused by external forces?

What strain is this? I'd definitely be printing and cloning those, I'm not versed enough to tell you if they're true albinos or what, but if that's a frequent occurrence you've already got a culture that's expressing those features, should be pretty easy to isolate it and get full flushes featuring that, and hopefully after a generation or two you've got a strain that you can get spores that do the same!

Those look pretty cool! I'd definitely clone them

My guess is that it's environmentally-induced rather than genetic. Maybe low moisture? I could be wrong, though, and it may be worth exploring further, especially if all your other cultures in similar conditions are not expressing the same phenotype.

Like five years ago i bought a syringe labeled "Amazonian", but who knows what strain it really was... I have grown cakes several times, made spore syringes and grown more cakes. Only recently I got back into mush cult and this time I did it properly. I have grown cakes with my old spores and then cloned some fruits I liked.
And that's how this culture came to be. The mushroom I cloned looked nothing like this... if it is genetic, then it must have been some hidden trait.
Yeah, I am gonna clone it to see how it turns out, but "creating a stable strain" is a mystery to me... does anyone maybe have a link on how to do it?

Yeah, its only this one culture that does it. Also if it was environmentally induced, I would expect all the mushroom in that flush to look this way.

Getting any healthy mature fruits that stay that color? My 1st guess because of the dark yellow stipes with stripes is the sub is too wet and they're aborting.

Yeah now that you say that.. could be too wet for sure. Definitely looks like they’re on the brink of aborting

The ones in the picture are mature (opened their veil). When they are young, they usually are ink-blue and look like aborts (like the ones on the right side of the first picture), but as they mature, they usually get paler (like the one in the center of the second picture).
This particular tub was given the same treatment as all my other tubs, and its always only this one culture that consistently does this. But even if that's not the case and it is really caused by high moisture (or some other external factor), wouldn't you expect most of the fruit-bodies to look this way? I would say that about 15% of the fruitbodies are looking like this, while the rest looks pretty normal.
Either way, i cloned one. I think it was one of the two in the first picture.

The caps are splitting. I'm gonna go with two much FAE and two wet. They look like aborts though.
