Sweet shrooms man. I met up with a buddy of mine and he brought a friend as well. Apparently the friend of a friend is on the shroomery. I can’t remember his username though lol. We looked for a few hours for ovoids along a river here in Northern GA while popping some gyms. . I’m surprised we didn’t find any ovoids with three of us looking.

These were in Fulton county - Atlanta area. I’ve only got one spot for them currently. It’s close to home so I visit pretty frequently. I’ve had way more success with ovoids than weilii... had my first weilii find last October after casually looking for years. Only gathered a few. I’ve probably found 100 ovoids just like these this spring.
Hoping for more success with weilii this season, but I think I’m in the wrong part of town... it doesn’t seem like many weilii are found ITP. I’ll need to get out to the ‘burbs this season.

Ahh gotcha. I've been looking all over the south river down in Henry, Butts and Newton. Still nothing but Argocybe and Psathyrella sp. I always get tricked by the Psathyrella. I think it may not begood because where Im at all the trash from Atl ends up in the flood plains down here.

They're found ITP. Thats where I just had my first find. I know there will be more there as the season progresses too. Well actually I guess it was my second find. Found two new spots in one day!

I’m sure there are finds to be had ITP. But it seems to me that the lack of recent land clearing and new development and general concrete jungle vibe makes it less than prime hunting ground. Then again, I don’t have the best eye for the habitat outside of what I’ve learned reading this forum and my one lucky find.

Found few more stragglers that I missed from a couple days ago. Think the worms are having a little party in the caps.

So you think they’re tripping out while eating the mushroom? Lol I would like to compare a snails normal activity to a snail on mushrooms activity. Submit your mushrooms to me and I will compare. Haha

I’ve read some interesting theories on this - most of the chemicals produced by plants and fungi (nicotine, caffeine, psilocybin, etc.) serve an evolutionary purpose of fending off insects. So the bugs that start to eat the mushroom get their neurons scrambled and stop eating. And the mushroom lives on to continue its reproductive purpose.
A bunch of the ovoids I’ve found this year had just a little bit of the cap nibbled on by something, presumably before the psilocybin kicked in.

I've Pondered This As Well. I've Found Cubes With Half The Cap Missing From Things Eating It.
After Much Thought. I Came To The Conclusion That There Are Tiny Gnome People That Stand Less Than A Foot Tall Living In The Pastures.

It seems like every fungi is fruiting today as I service properties. I’ll just sit here and wait for the wave of weilii to come.

I’ve been back to my ovoid spot probably 6 times and haven’t found shit. Lil weilii nest hasn’t popped up any type of fungus at all either and I’m beginning to think I was just having blind luck. Had been feeling like I was figuring this shit out lol

I'm limited on areas I can go to. Have to roll start my truck off. So haven't really been anywhere I have to drive too.
Edit: good luck to those out there looking though

Found these a few days ago. But all other places I’ve found them couldn’t even see any myc. Guess it started and ended early. I’ll be checking that spot again today. Any finds would be pleasant surprise.

Saw about a dozen crispy voids lol no clue how I've walked past these for what looks to have been several weeks. Same Gwinnett park as I found them in before
