Hello everyone,
-A short introduction- I would like to briefly introduce myself since this is the first time posting here. isolated I did 2 PF Teks 2 years ago with low yield about ~ 40gr dried. That was enough for the time. Me, friends and family had some really good experiences.
I got my plan setup from the Getting Started pages and the search engine. Works like a charm. So here we go->
-The venture- I want to invite all of you to take part in this new venture. The plan, as the title suggests, is to make me a brand new Monotub. I will document the whole undertaking to create room for exchange and a source for people like me starting out.
-The Tek- We will use : Bodisattas TEK for a unmodified Monotub - for its simplicity and efficiency.
-The Plan - First i still need some supplies to get going. I have some strains at Hand but got a question regarding a spore syringe. The said syringe is a over a year old and i was wondering if that is still good to use? Looks quite normal. There are some "flakes" in it. See yourself:

Besides that,i´ve got some Sporeprints (same age):
- B+
- Mckennaii
- Mexicana
- GoldenTeacher
So i have not decided yet but i think besides the Monotub i will do some PfTEKS hence i have everything at hand from last Time. We´ll See.
Next thing is. Lets Try out that fancy agar agar thing .
-Agar Agar Petri Dishes- So what do we need ? Dishes , Agar Agar, Nutrition. And of Course a Tek.
We will do something in-between those Pastywhyte's Easy Agar Tek and BOD's Comprehensive Agar TEK Agar Agar We use simple food grade Agar Agar pulverized.
Nutrition We take them Potato Flakes and Honey/Maple Syrup. Should work. In case not i have some Malt Extract at hand.
Casing/Container I will use plastic petri dishes.
Colorization If on today's Shopping-tour I should find me some lovely purple food color we'll use it, if not, well it will not be as fabulous as i had imagined.
Tools Needed
- Maltextrakt
- Potato Flakes
- Honey
- Pulverized Agar Agar
- Fancy Food Color
- sauce pan
- Bottles for pouring and to put in the PC
- Petri Dishes
- Disinfectant (we`ll use isopropanol 99%)
- This little Scraper
- Gloves
- Pressure Cooker
- Torch
-SAB- For this i will see what i find today. Well it seems not that hard just some kind of big container to make some holes in it.
-Grain Spawns- We once again use bodhisatta's TEK as resource for our spawns. And again because i like it fancy, we will also use his Lid TEK
Tools Needed
- Mason Jars with lids
- Oats for human consumption (no hulls)
- Pressure Cooker
- Polyfill for the lids
- Scredriver for the holes
-The Monotub- I have some tubs left from my previous PF Teks and i am planning on using them.

So all we need is some kind of lid. But maybe later i find a better match in the store.
Things we need
- Tub with lid
- Coir
- Light source
-The Light- I have some LED light strips on me but as Bod suggests florescent tubes should work better:
Quote:
Lighting
you can use tube fluorescent lights for multiple tubs. There's far more than one correct way to arrive at great results.
I have long since abandoned using the one light per tub and now use shop lights for multiple tubs. Lighting from the side and top doesn't matter. I strongly suggest using florescent lights rather than LED lights. Florescent tubes are actually MORE EFFICIENT in watts per lumen as well they also put out a more full spectrum of light than almost all LED lighting even if both are listed as 6500K.
Florescent T8 4 foot long tubes work well The Spectralux 901616 4 ft. - 32 Watt - T8 - 6500K - 2900 Lumens - High Output bulb works well in a appropriate fixture. You don't need the exact same lighting setup as me. Mushrooms don't photosynthesis but like humans act funny if kept completely devoid of light. Yes they will grow in complete darkness but they will look fucking stupid and no be nearly as presentable. Mushrooms do derive a noticeable positive benefit from adequate lighting.
I will look for something like this and just put it on top of the lid:

-The Substrate- We will use Bod's Coir Substrate
Tools needed
I already have the coir but have to find a fitting insulated container.
Okay thanks for the read, i will keep it updated. Need to go shopping now. Noris Out.
#---Update-28.04.20------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shopping today:
The Oats, the correct one :

The Light: I did not find any fluorescent lights at my local store. so this one 900Lumen and 6500K should do the trick:

Jars:

SAB: Huge ass Box :

Wait a minute, why oats for human consumption. That is the opposite of bod's tek or anyone else's with oats. Typo?

Mostly people use whole oats with the hull. Horse feed oats. Those can work but they are a pretty starchy grain and may clump. Hulls on will be much more forgiving for proper moisture. One other thing is that 70% iso works better for disinfecting. Something about water content and cellular something or another.
Otherwise...rock on

If you use those you should look at a tek using those since that is quite the difference in prep compared to ones with the husk.
