Shiitake aren't really that good, oysters are more versatile, tastier, easier to grow *DELETED* * 1

I grow all kinds of oysters and I definitely disagree. Oysters are just meh as an edible imo. Damn are they easy to grow though.

I like raw oysters. When I go to Florida I get them in the years past a long time ago. I put lemon and hot sauce on them. I got the cooked oysters once and was not as good.

You can eat raw oysters? I like shiitake and oysters especially wild oysters. I think chanterelles and hen of the woods are my favorite though chickens are good too.

Yeah. What’s wrong with raw oysters? I only eat them when I’m in Florida however and that’s rare.

Usually most mushrooms you shouldn't eat raw because the cell walls are to hard for your stomach to digest oysters may be an exception though I'm not sure.

I'm a weirdo. I like all shrooms. Haven't found one I haven't enjoyed yet. Just had some classic shroom pizza, actually!

Growing culinary shrooms seems like a cool hobby TBH. I have a friend that does "logs".

I'd like to grow some Lion's mane. I've never had it.

How hard is it to grow?

Shiitakes cooked in buttered ghee with salt and pepper, mirin, and a splash of teriyaki sauce and a splash of Marsala is my fav.

Also delicious raw, they already taste buttery and have a fleshy - steaky texture.  Mmm

Shiitakes are really good for you.
Not to say others aren't as well, but shiitakes are really good for you assuming you are human.

Flavor-wise, I'm a big fan of sauteed maitake mushrooms :whoah::wow::love:
