Tampanensis jars not producing, spawn sub questions.

So I have some jars that produced a decent amount of stones and a bunch that have 1 or even zero visible stones. They have been going for over six months. They are on rye grain that I had added a coffee water mix as RR suggest. The jars that produced a decent amount will be used to clone to agar and carry on. But as for these jars I plan to fruit them and was going to spawn to horse poo but recently saw something somewhere(lost the link) mentioning that some jars will produce lots of stones when you case them for fruiting. So this has me thinking maybe not using horse poo would be ideal as I could harvest the stones without having any chance of poo clinging to my stones.
Does anyone know what would be ideal in this situation? Also I have a jar that has a bunch of stones that have become quite dark, maybe a little blue. Anyways I think they might definitely be turning. Picture in my photo album, something strange was preventing me from attaching directly to this post sorry. Thanks for any input.

I’d spawn them to coir in shoeboxes or monotubs. Your stones will bulk up and you may get some fruits as well.

Thanks SFS96, yeah coir makes sense. How does coir with a little used coffee grounds and some vermiculite and 5% gypsum sound? Then case with more coir, verm and lime.

Thanks for the tip Bhodi. Not a fan of coffee for some reason? The jars don’t have visible contams I can see but do have a good amount of metabolites wich I’ve read is par for the course when it comes to tampanensis. I’ll add a photo to my album, I’m having trouble with adding photos to the thread, only wants to allow videos for some reason? Anyways thanks for any and all input.

Uh... if you have jars that aren't producing anything after 6 months, I'd say it's safe to say that they are definitely bad. I'd also be interested to see a picture though just because.
Tampanensis with nothing but hydrated oats in jars grow so fast for me it's silly. Like stones start forming before the jar is even fully colonized.
Were all the jars inoculated from the same source? Zero stones after 6 months almost makes me think somehow they aren't tampanensis. Sorry for the stupid question, but is there at least mycelium in the bunk jars?

may not bad but the grain prep definitely was. No stones because it was too wet
All you do is copy and paste the link under the pictures and put it in the post

That picture is bizarre. I mean it looks like perfectly good mycelium... minus the fact that someone opened the jar up to let in a rainstorm after it was colonized. That being said, Tampanensis is so prolific for me, I'm kind of surprised there aren't some stones above the water line.
Maybe someone from the Naked and Afraid show found the jar, used it to collect rain water, then put the lid back on and returned it to where they found it after the episode.

Thanks for the tip on pics. All the moisture is strange, the grains were not wet when they went in the jars, I let them steam off well and didn’t overcook them(pretty dam sure anyway, they didn’t split or anything )the moisture didn’t show up until over a month in and slowly built up. I live in a humid climate maybe that has something to do with it? Or yes maybe the naked and afraid hypothesis. Yeah It’s mighty strange. Well I’ll take a crack at spawning them to coir and start over with agar and some of the stones from more successful jars. Thanks everyone

Since they are fully colonized maybe I just crack a jar and pour out the moisture then throw some casing in and close it up and see what happens?

Doesn’t hurt at this point I suppose. Personally, I’d just start new jars since (they really go exceptionally fast when done right), rather than fuck around trying to save a 6 month old jar that has $0.20 worth of media in it.

Yeah I’m definitely gonna start over but also might do this in the meantime out of curiosity.
