so I had these agar plates unwrapped in the SAB drying out condenstation from a fresh pour.
Then I saw a tse tse fly fly in there and i was like fukin ell man.
later on i saw he had got down into the side edge of one of the plates and stuck there. fuck you little fly now what I said. So I then forgot about him and left it in the stack and wrapped em up and put them away.
like almost 2 weeks ago.
so today I'm working around, and I catch a whiff of mould. and I'm like of what the fuck something is fucking off around here.
another moment another whiff damn fucking its like rotten chicken inside the trash can. check shoes. nope. check feet. nope. check rhodenderons. not it.
I check everything in the room - tubs, under cabinets, fresking everywhere. then Im like oh no fucking way - I grab the stack of plates and unwrap them a bit and it knocks me over with stink like bad catfish bait inside a portapotty on a hot day bad.
that little ass gnat turned into some kind of grey looking blotch i double bagged the plates and immediately heaved them some kind of fucking shit was going on in there.
TLDR - dont keep infected ass bacterial fucked up plates around even to watch them to see what they do no good end comes of it

Nothing wrong with wanting to watch how contaminants grow, but keep them away from anything they might contaminate.

That just means your plates weren't wrapped properly.

If they are wrapped properly, contaminants shouldn't be able to leave. And you're probably also doing something wrong with things that aren't supposed to contaminate. That's why we have filters on jars.

Nah, it's just kinda annoying because people will read this and then in 5 days we'll see a bunch of posts "omg, I had a plate contaminated, will my cakes on the other side of the house be okay?"
