Sterile technique with media bottles

So once your agar comes down to pouring temp after pc should you take the foil off the cap before or after breaking the vacuum? Would it be better to break the seal while itโs still pretty hot to minimize the vacuum and let it sit loose in the sab?

I almost feel like it'd be safer to break the seal in the SAB...my reasoning being that the air it gulps in will have less contams (or at least be more likely to have less contams)
As for foil...I'm really not sure what to think. Is it safer to have the naked jar gulp unobstructed air in? Would the foil potentially be another vector for contams? I have no clue there.
Aside from that, I've had success cracking the seal while I'm in my box right before I pour

I put media bottle half screwed in pc with foil over cap, after pressure drop to 0 remove bottle from pc and screw cap one turn away from full tight and keep foil on, after temp is right i screw cap full tight remove foil and spray bottle with alcohol.. put bottle inside SAB and unscrew it there for pouring... no contam ever from pouring i got... i also do LC same, after pressure hits 0 i remove bottle from pc screw cap one turn from tight and let it cool on my shelf, when they are cool i screw cap tight and remove foil after.

I always open it in the sab but it makes me nervous not knowing if the foil is more contaminated than my gloved hand lol. I suppose Iโll keep taking the foil off before I break the seal until I learn otherwise.

I don't even bother putting foil over the lid anymore. Just a waste. Caps don't need another cap

Err. you shouldn't have a vacuum. loosen the cap before pressure cooking. Problem solved.

I pc with the cap loose but as soon as I open the pc I tighten it down. The cooling of the agar with the cap tight is what makes the vacuum. Should I just leave it loose after I take it out of the pc?

Probably better to let that air in really slowly instead of a one quick draw.

So, loosen cap, but slightly tighter than when you re-melt agar in the microwave, pc, then remove from pc with cap still loose and place in sab?
