Flowhood sizing
    #26631115 - 04/27/20 12:22 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

So I’m looking into purchasing a flowhood for my lab but torn on what size to get between 24x24 and 18x24. The bags I currently work with are about 20in in height and I’m injecting LC into the pre sealed bag. Would it be a problem if the very top didn’t fall into flowhood air flow if it’s sealed already?

It's best to always keep everything you are working on in front of the hood and in the airflow. It May not cause problems if you let it scrub the air in the room you're working in.

Personally I'd say go with the 24x24 if money isn't a problem as you may want to use different methods in the future and from personal experience having a taller flow hood is really nice to have especially with bags when using grain spawn.

I went with a bigger one than I needed when I got mine and I am glad I did now. If I had gotten the smaller of the 2 I was looking at I'd be wanting to upgrade at the moment.

Flow hoods can last a long time so I'd say get the one you like so you don't want to upgrade in the future. It would suck to have an expensive piece of equipment that doesn't get used and I would imagine they aren't easy to sell second hand.

But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go
If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow
That it's one thing to try and another to fly
You get there quicker just a step at a time
It's one thing to bark, another to bite
The show ain't over till you pack up at night
