That's a thing of beauty man. I take it these are at your home in containers, feeling a bit jealous. If you have any tips or advice on how you achieved this kind of success I'd be very interested to know, I'm attempting to do the same. Those photos are fantastic. RESPECT!!!!

That GDP is now an ancient artifact. May as well put that shit in the museum. 16 nugs left, gotta keep them in-tact for as long as I can.

Yes these are on private property; they grew in garden mulch from mitre10. The mulch must have had mycelium in it I assume. I have just moved the pot out of direct sunlight and watered every couple of days. There have been three fruiting sessions now, a week or two apart. This last fruiting stage was brought on by placing the pot in the middle of the lawn on dry cold nights, then moving it out of direct sunlight.
Unfortunately I cannot offer advice on getting them started from the taco method described on this site.
It was just luck that someone pointed out these mushrooms that had started growing in one of the pots. I had to get an ID on this site to make sure they were what I thought they were.
The pot is 400mm square by 400mm deep filled with potting mix and generously topped off with garden mulch.

I think I understand now.... mitre10 is covertly selling pre inoculated garden mulch to the masses. Ultimate GC's Thanks for the info Kiwi89. I'm going for broke with my attempts but am sure I've made some beginner mistakes. Haven't had too much trouble getting the mycelium going using stems initially in cardboard "tacos" but have switched to going straight onto wood which seems to work as well. I've got several different beds and buckets happening so i guess its just a matter of waiting and hoping now. Did you get your garden mulch this year? or has it been in the container longer? i figure that the mycelium is going to need time to establish but have read guides using the taco method that said if you get some going from the first flush and transfer into wood chip after a few weeks you can possibly already get some coming through by the end of the same season. Going to drive my forklift down to mitre10 and buy up a whole pallet of garden mulch....

Ah no I think it is Tui garden co that are doing the good work of spreading mushrooms. Miter10 are the middlemen.

Yes there is a ton of mycelium growing around here now from just the mushrooms doing there thing, but no fruit from the new mycelium. Next season I'm thinking.

It is hard to say for sure how long that particular mulch has been down for. I know that there has only been one blueberry season since they went down though. My small bucket has produced over one hundred and seventy mushrooms. So your multiply buckets is going to be mental.

I have read lots of theories of how to get the mycelum to fruit but unfortunately have no experience myself. It would be nice to be able to experiment with multiple different methods to see what produces the best results.

Ah okay.... I didn't buy a pallets worth but I was there for another reason and thought I'd grab a bag on the off chance....
 was it this stuff??

Jesus 170 shrooms from a single bucket sounds like pretty good going, I highly doubt that I'll get anything like that. If I do however I'll be tempted to help out anyone thats had a poor season.... I mean there's only so much that one person needs.
And to get the hunting thread back on track here is a massive flush of 2 pins pushing through. Seems that this is the only spot that is still producing. It's protected from the west and was relatively unaffected by the recent one in 500 year flood (my arse) that we had.

Unfortunately this pic does not live up to my usual blurry standards.... sorry.

Dude
This spot just seems to keep on popping. Whats interesting is that where I have pulled one mushroom out, and I’ve become very careful at pulling them out, these clusters are coming up out of spot where the 1st mushroom was.
Effectively, every one i pull I get about 3-4 more later on.

Yes that is the stuff.
I must be honest, there are at least nine large pots with this stuff and Tui compost here and only one had the right type of mushroom grow in it.

Hell yeah there is no way I would get through that many mushrooms. I am genuinely surprised how many have grown so far. Having two or more buckets would be serious overkill for me if they always grew like this lot did.
Also remember the one hundred and seventy mushrooms has come from three flushes one or two weeks apart after the last mature mushroom, not all in one go.

Well I guess I will add a couple more pictures, some of the lager mushrooms have gone. I noticed something strange there are some pins just coming through now which did not happen the last two times. New growth did not start until all the fruit was gone before.

Magic spot! Yeah same for my last spot. The last 3 WAHs have come from pretty much exactly the same spot. I'm sure a smart mushroom type would know why this is.

These are some beautiful psilocybes ... i agree with Roger they do look like Ps. cyan. Would be cool if someone analyzed some of the mushrooms that look like cyans to see if thats what they are.
EDIT: BTW nominated!

They're BEAUTIFUL mang
If that really originated from TUI mulch: I hope it was some garden centre worker's deliberate action... and I offer blessings & kudos on whomever that was.

went for a quick look today to check progress on the few that are still popping up. Took a bucket of water with me to give them a little boost even. Just after taking a few hurried photos I turned round and saw a guy looking at me on a bike. Ya looking for mushies? he asked nah nah just taking photos for a project on mumble mumble mumble i says..... gapped it and did a loop round the block. I wasn't worried about being snapped as the guy defiantly wasn't the snitching type if you know what I mean but was hoping in vain that he either was confused/convinced by my mumbled explanation or at the very least wasn't a dick who would pick pins...... got back.... the guys a dick, or at least has no clue or doesn't give a fuck which kinda = dick... anyway got photos..

 Sigh.
