Need help with ID - Are these mushrooms golden tops

Habitat Victoria, Australia. Was found in mulch patch in clusters Gills: Creamy brown coloured
Stem: Short white stem, went blue/green coloured after being picked
Cap: Caramel coloured rounded
Spore print color: Checking spore print tomorrow

Those are Psilocybe subaeruginosa, also called gold tops. I actually think Copper tops is a more suitable name. But you do you. Congrats on your find. Next time maybe you can take shots of them in the ground and post in the 2020 Vic psilocybe thread.

"Gold tops" is a name usually used for psilocybe cubensis in Australia. I thought psilocybe subaeruginosa was only referred to simply as "subs". It doesn't make any sense, there's nothing "golden" about the look of subaeruginosa. I think people are mixing up the names. I've seen cubensis been called "blue meanies" on a couple of occasions. Go figure.

Yeah, people mix em up. Subs caps turn a gold in the drying process. I dont like the name though.
Copper tops makes sense, cause frequently the cap is a brown colour and... "The species name aeruginosa is a Latin word meaning verdigris ("copper rust"), referring to blue-green color"
