Spawn bag input
    #26630899 - 04/26/20 10:11 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Knock these bags up with slurries had really bad issue with bacteria in about 15 bad had to be my prep so going work on that next time around. Here a few picks of the bags the mycelium looks like faded ghost type does this mean it was a weak culture? Additional question input in overcoming bacterial spawn issues would be great, I’ve decided to pre seal bags and currently pc for 2 hrs, I use millet so verse no soak with my larger batch I will soak it all for 12-24 hours and boil to get the 5% gain burst, I’m drying on tarp so maybe let it set a little longer till I get some floor dryers. P.S. presealing because going use LC.

Whats your PC time on the bag? Ive personally never worked with milo, but it is possible you could have prepped it too wet? To dry my grains i nailed together a cpl 2x4s to form a frame and then stapled some screen over it, put on a pair of saw horses and either put outside or in your tub- gets the outside dry in a cpl hrs

Also bold move presealing the bags. They never pop on you

I'm in the same situation as you at the moment. My bags seem perfectly healthy but growth stalled and the mycelium looks very weak. I'm using rye berries and there are various grains throughout the bag that never seem to colonize.

Seems okay, shake and let us know how they look in a week.

I’ve shaken these twice and they seem to keep coming back fine although they were in a batch of 44 and got 12 left so there’s the story in itself bacterial spawn, trich, and realization what a flowhood could do for me.

you really lost 32 out of 44 bags? Sorry man, I just had to throw out 15+ tubs myself for weak culture. I didnt even attempt bags until i built a hood
