Ok so this is what I came up with. I haven't used it yet. The grip off the ink pen should work as a insulator. I pushed both in half way. The punch is 3/16 matched with back of ink pen and gripper off the ink pen.

It's pretty stable with just the gripper connection . Once I use it and see how it acts I'll decide if I use electrical tape or not.

One thing I learned is the tool has to be cooled down good or it dont cut it it melts it. Duh. No as easy as you make it look.

I have quite a few pretty ones. Some over grown, some just starting. Had one set cross contam 4 plates with bacteria. Got to keep clean and sterilize.

Yeah its graphting tape for plants. Just like Suran wrap. That pic is before I knew to stretch it. Now it doesn't look so sloppy.

 I tore the transfer with scalpel when I was removing it.
I have a friend who makes these agar punches in the middle. Another friend makes the extended scalpel. PM for info Both are great for keeping hands far from plates.
Thx for this tek. It was fun learning it with the punch.
