Does it have to be near 80 degrees Fahrenheit for Panaeolus Cinctulus to grow? I have previously found some of these growing naturally, however it was in late Summer, warmer temperatures. I just recently made this account yesterday so I would also greatly appreciate some guidance in using this site if anyone could.

No. They can fruit in fairly cold weather.

I've wondered myself about hunting them. I assume I should check pastures and stuff right? As well as fertilized lawns? I have a theory tho that at lower altitudes I'd be more likely to find them. I just don't think that way up on the mountain you would be able to find them as prevalent. I'm no expert tho.

No cinctulus expert myself, but I've never found them higher up than 1000m, mostly much lower. You can find them in any type of fertilized grass, really. They're fond of horses 😀

Dude, I'm such a noob. I guess my half baked theory has some truth behind it. I've definitely got cincts on my hit list for this year.
I have some on agar but that doesn't count to me.

They occur wherever there is horse dung/straw, compost, fertilized lawns. There just happen to be more of those things in the lowlands, all told. I picked them regulaly in the mountains of western NC (our home was at 4300ft and I picked from piles of stable shavings and pastureland down the road regularly). Pretty cold tolerant. They fruited early and kept fruiting into almost November. Temps were mild though and worth noting they do boom in the summer and early fall... This'll be the first year I've checcked for them here in Alaska. Found one last year while doing work for someone and forgot to go back or look again anywhere else. Best of luck.
