Location - Eastern Victoria Habitat - growing near eucalyptus trees Spore print - done on foil, nothing observed after several hours. Bruising - None observed. Smell - like pineapple juice was left sitting out in the sun a little too long.

Not what im used to, (not that ive seen much) with elderly blewits. I tend to observe that they are purple/ violet in immaturity and that with age the caps go a brown while the stem stays violet. Gills look right though, as if the print will be the flesh tone/salmon colour.
Interested to see what others say what it is. I would say its a bit too old for edibility however, i prefer the younger specimens for eating.
Edit: I have a pic. Heres what i mean with the caps browning while the rest stays purple/violet:

Also i think its Lepista nuda now.

Agree with OOISI. It also seems odd that the stem flesh is not bruising purple. Could be due to being too dry?

Yeah it’s the first time I’ve seen one. Maybe its because it has been a little dry the past few days that the cap has retained its colour? either way if it does get a positive ID I'll probably fry up a small piece just to sample.

My bad
No problem. Its good to stay up-to-date, i took me a little to get used to stropharia aurantiaca becoming leratiomyces ceres, pan subalteatus being cinctulus and certain suspected makarorae being angulospora.
I do agree it looks dry and that could be the reason why the colour didnt change. Gills certainly indicate blewit.
If you do get a positive ID heres what i say. I first discovered blewits along a creek line in 2018. In 2019 they fruited along the creek but not in the same place. Just look around the same genereal area for some freshies, which should come soon seeing as you found them early in season. I wouldnt say they are the most delicious but not bad. Have a nutty flavour to em.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be keeping an eye out around that area.
