Hi all, newbie here.

Been doing extensive research, but would like
An id on these.

I believe they are Subs,
However the gills are most whiteish then brown but I’ve read somewhere that this is likely a young shroom and they can be milky tan when premature?

They all bruised blue once I got them home on the stems. However would like so clarification on IDing.

Basically what I got off is - gold caps, no ring on the stem under cap. Stem is white / greyish that bruises blue. Gills brown.

Any other tips?

Look like subs, i mean photos 2-3 appears to be bruising. However if you could take a shot of the mushrooms in the glass bowl laid out side by side i believe we could give a more comprehensive ID.

The light gills just means they are sterile i.e. will give little to no spores, which does occur occasionally.

Did you take any spore prints?

Psilocybes have light tan gills before they start to drop spores.

I'd be hesitant to call them subs without more info, usually subs bruise quite a bit and I don't see anything I'd call bruising jumping out at me.

I'd do a good ol fashioned bending of the caps and stems to see how firm they are.

If the mushrooms look like subs, are relatively heavy, have a slight rubbery feel and the caps and stems are very firm when bent then it's most promising that they are subs.

Looks like they were found relatively dry, which could be why the bruising isn't very pronounced.

Also, mushroom genetics play a key role in bruising. Not all members of a species are going to bruise to the same degree.

Looks like Psilocybe subaeruginosa, though I can't say for sure for all of them because some of the ones in the bowl are hidden from camera view.
