Think my eye is getting better at detecting bacteria.. what cha think. I spawned this bag to a tub and it has hardly grown in 5 days(no recovery)

Hi! New cultivator here, I also use oats for my grain spawn but how does this visibly differ from a healthy mycelium growth? Do you have any pictures of healthy grain spawn?
I mainly ask because this is how most of my grain spawn looked in my experimental throw-away batch I'm testing to see how much I can get away with skipping plenty of what I consider "extra Precautionary" sterilization steps.

For me, and with oats it's especially hard to tell usually because they always get a bit wet looking during colonization. The things I look for are different areas of dense to lighter, whispy Mycelium growth, and especially the speed it takes to colonize and if it slows down at any point during its colonization. You can always shake your jars or bags after full colonization to be sure they recover quickly. If not they are definitely fighting something else sometimes it can be "invisible" bacteria

Standard CVG. Same batch has another strain fully colonized in 5 days, just made me think this bag was so full of bacteria it didn't even have a fighting chance to colonize

If that bags bacterial its honestly hard to see for me. Ive def seen way worse. You should be getting at least something out of it, there should be another reason. Did you case at all?

There's no other reason for it not to colonize rather than an infection/bacteria it's up against. Just a 1/8inch too layer to cover the exposed grains

Spawn looks pretty decent to me. Maybe your CVG is too wet? I've found that formulaic recipes for coir don't work for all brands, same for vemiculite. What are your temps like?
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...
