Anybody actually making money working from home for themselves right now?

I’ve started listing things on eBay but I doubt that’ll get us through till the end of this. Anyone got any ideas for supplemental income? Can’t claim unemployment because I’m fresh out of school and I doubt us non-billionaire folk’ll be seeing a check anytime soon. I wanna stock up food because the supply chains are no doubt being affected and it’s probably only gonna get worse but we’re already living on ramen. I’ve got supplies to grow oysters and lions mane too so there’s some protein at least.

Grow your own food. Sell your plasma and sperm as often as you can. Online surveys. eBay. My favorite - teaching ESL classes. Writing Essays. Reviewing / editing . Online video game streaming. Content creator. Ali baba. Amazon. Twitch tv. YouTube. Hunt big game, get a few animals butchered well and package it all up into a big old deep freezer ( that’s a lot of meat ) . Sell things for money. Cold calling for a company but from home. Make meth. Get a loan. Refinance your old loans. Ask family. Find a part time job somewhere nearby that has minimal people contact. Sell your body like a hoe. Etc etc.
For real though (some are jokes, most are not), teaching ESL to middle school students in China and Korea is my main income while locked down right now.

This is probably a dumb question, but don't you need to know Chinese to teach Chinese students?

Hypothetically if you know anyone that owns any sort of business and they're ok with it, you can just pretend they had hired you and you were scheduled to start but then couldn't due to the virus. That would qualify you for $600+ a week, and you might even qualify for a percentage of what your imaginary salary was going to be on top of that.
Not advocating fraud, just stating a hypothetical.

Under the CARES Act, you can receive unemployment benefits if you are unable to work or are working reduced hours as a result of the coronavirus. That includes people who are directly impacted by the virus — those who have symptoms, are quarantined or are caring for someone who has COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
You’re also covered under the following circumstances:
Your workplace closed due to the public health emergency. You had to quit your job because of the coronavirus. You can’t work because you are a caregiver to someone whose school or other facility closed and you need to care for them. You were supposed to start a job but it fell through or you can’t get there because of the coronavirus.

No. And I teach English and Spanish. Most money from China/S.Korea. Some from countries in S. America. Usually need a BA though.
Also students and classes of students varies from individual to individual - some know no English or Spanish, others no only a few words, and some know what they’ve been taught/learned in English/foreign language courses in their own schools.
I’ve read about other teaching programs that don’t require a BA, but just know you are literally teaching a class of foreign students, and creating (curriculum) it all yourself. Time management and organization and practicing before presenting is a must.
Also the CARES Act that was just posted in your thread and in another thread in the PUB looks promising, I’m going to try to see if I’m eligible for it since my work place and uni both shut down.
You should check that out as well.

Yes. I'm able to operate at about 70% just online right now. Very grateful I set that system up in place over a year ago.

I am in this exact situation right now. Was scheduled to start and got canceled due to corona but when I tried filing for UI online there is no way to explain that particular situation on the application because of they way it is laid out so I just had to put that I worked 0 hours for this company at a certain wage and then send them a separate message online stating the situation. Can’t even call them the lines are so busy. I hope it works
