Fruiting in pint jar. How much /when to water/mist?

I've got a couple pint jars that are 95%ish colonized and altho there is some water droplets on the side of the jar i think its kind getting dry at this point. a mixture of verm and barley.
I misted the top yesterday and the mycelium seems like it wilted and stuck together more. some blue-ish tips.
Just curious if i should be misting or watering at this stage as this is the point where PF tek cakes would come out and be soaked
Thanks for any advice!

This is more of a feel thing than anything, do some experimenting, you want to try and keep the field capacity of your substrate, so you want it to be wet without oversaturating. what I try to do is keep the same moisture "feel" that the original substrate had at its field capacity and go with that.

Just not sure how to judge that without squeezing it? I've got a ziplock bag with holes over them and misting everyday. No condensation build up yet

It looks alright, and you could still technically “dunk” the cake though I’m not sure if you need to since you’ll be fruiting from in the jar and it will loose less water naturally.
I’ve never grown that way but the same principles apply, keep it moist at the surface and give it fresh air to allow that surface moisture to evaporate. You just have to watch it and make judgments based on what’s happening

Thanks. It seems like the water is taken up within 3-4hrs so i'm misting a few times per day. Been about 3 months since i started so anxious to see some fruit. I have other jars almost ready to spawn in mini tubs.

Thanks, maybe a dunk would have been better.
I've been looking for mushrooms out the top but looked closely today and there are a bunch starting/growing on the side of the jar. What should i do at this point?

Figured id get these out before it gets ruined with mold. cut around the cakes with a thin knife then cut in half. was able to squeeze the first halves out ok, the next came out not so good.
I filled a shoebox tub about 1" deep with verm and sprayed it with hot water till it was hydrated around field capacity.
My cakes were slightly over hydrated and there was a little residual water in my jars. I placed my cakes / pieces on foil and covered with a light layer of dry verm. Placed the lid on and into my cab. Hopefully these will recover in a few days and ill see some non soggy mushrooms
