BRF pinning in jars * 1
    #26623800 - 04/24/20 02:11 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

So this is my first round of growing.  I've read and re-read and watched tons of videos.  This site has been so helpful!

I prepped 12 jars and three of them went in to the SGFC yesterday.  Tomorrow I have 5 more that will hit the 7th day after full colonization so they will get birthed and dunked.  I did notice just now a few of them already have a few pins.  I read that it can mean they are fully colonized, or there may be contaminated.  I am posting a few pics just so maybe someone can tell me if these look healthy or not.  I am still not sure on what contam looks like yet.  Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hi. Nothing seems to be suspicious about those. There is a contam thread with pictures of different contams. Try searching for that.

could be wrong but it looks like there could be a bacterial presence that may have triggered them to pin.

Your jars are looking on the wet side, so it's possible you have some bacteria present. Should still be able to birth them and DnR as usual, just keep a bit more careful watch on them.

I realized I was past field capacity after everything was done/inoculated.  I now understand that a little better and will definitely do different next time.

They looks fine to me, if you get pins before full colonization that indicte bacteria contam, but if u get pins before 7 days consolodation time it means u have good genetics, 7 days consolidation time is just avarge time but they are ready when they choose to, some genetics will consoloidate in 3 days, some in 7 and some in 10+, in the end they will all produce, since u used MS and not isolte its totaly normal ...just dunk and roll it and enjoy
