Quick question about Florida shrooming
    #26623203 - 04/23/20 07:06 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Does anyone know where to go in the Tampa/Lakeland florida area to safely hunt for mushrooms? I know of the stand your ground laws and I just don't know how to do it safely.

Please read the Forum Rules,  where it (among other things) says
you're not supposed to ask for (or give away) specific hunting locations.

That being said, few people are willing to disclose their secretly guarded spots even to friends, so you would probably
have a hard time asking anyway.

When it comes to the risk of trespassing, I'd usually urge people to seek out the property owners and try to get permission.
I understand this can be a potential pain in the ass to do, but if you throw in some patience and confidence and suffer a
handful of negative results, you should manage to succeed sooner or later. Just be straight forward but reasonable when
you encounter them, tell them you're going to look for mushrooms,. Avoid outright lies since this can often raise suspicion
and thus put you in a bad position. Take a 'no' for an answer.

Best of luck, happy hunting and welcome to the Shroomery.

thank you, im sorry about breaking the rules. I was wondering if there were parks in the area that are known to have mushrooms and it was legal. or a general type of location, not necessarily a specific spot.

Actives in parks are extremely rare. Best bet is to find pastures you can get access to.
