Overanalysing
    #2658251 - 05/09/04 08:03 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

When your tripping on mushrooms, do you ever have trouble thinking? Like trouble trying to stop thinking? Recently I did some shroomz and i couldn't stop talking and thinking about the same thing over and over. i was giving a constant play by play of what I saw and what I felt? Do you think stuff is louder on shrooms? Because i always think im being loud and so do my friends?

"What's the trouble?"
"Well, all this white stuff on my sleeve is LSD."

yep, tis normal, you will also experience very conflicting thoughts at the same exact time, often you will ponder existential questions with no answers, repition isn't always what happens, but the urge to think and talk is there

Don't know,I've never had shrooms.       I used to get like that on weed. It's kinda weird though, the feeling. Are you tripping now?        :blah:  :chainsaw:

Thinking is just a normal side effect of taking mushrooms. Sometimes you get lost in thought and loom over stuff that you really don't want to be thinking about. My friends and I call it "The Thoughts."

Thinking about the same thing over and over again is called a thought loop. Thought loops can be hard to break out of especially when what you're thinking about isn't pleasent.

when doing shrooms or any psycadelic i too tend to over analyse things....so much that that way of thinking has overflowed into my every day life. i think that, along with the fact im going to school to be a chemist has put my brain in a constant state of questioning and analysing....sometimes it gets me into rediculous arguments with my friends and family, but for the most part it has betterd my life.

i love that song.....

I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human. <-----my favorite part

I tend to overanalize as well, but that's also just in everyday life. I try not to, with people. I want to be able to accept people AS IS instead of trying to figure out what their really after or about. Of course I want to know the real side of people, but I want them to make that choice on their own. I'll let them decide if they want me to know the real "them". For me, I'm always going to be the real me. Whether people like it or not.     If I am on anything and I do start to overanalyse, all I do is get a big f--king headache.

TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS

turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream
it is not dying, it is not dying

lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
it is shining, it is shining

yet you may see the meaning of within
it is being, it is being

love is all and love is everyone
it is knowing, it is knowing

and ignorance and hate mourn the dead
it is believing, it is believing

but listen to the colour of your dreams
it is not leaving, it is not leaving

so play the game "existence" to the end
of the beginning, of the beginning

Iv always been abel to get out a loop by vocalizing what im thinking about to my friends while im tripping and eventualy i break free and boy does that always feel great.

Example one time i had this overwhelming feeling of emptyness and my friends noticed I wasnt looking to well like soemthing was bothering me and they began to talk to me about what was on my mind. I told them about the feeling of emptyness and how i couldnt over come it and we talked about it and i began to understand that the feeling of emptyness was the result of me being too quit and not talking be selfish with my trip and not vocalizing what was going on around me so from now on i always describe what im seeing feeling and thinking when im tripping with people and i havnt had any more bad loops like that. So the next time you get in a bad loop just talk to your friends there and you should be able to talk yourself out of it, hope this helps you out as much as it did me.
